Lack of Up Keep
The house was nice and in a good location, but there are leaks in the windows, which leads to mold in the house. There is pealing paint in several locations. There is rotted wood in several locations. There is a broken pipe in the well system, which leads to bacteria in the drinking water, which explains why we had stomach issues when we arrived. If work is not completed on the house, it will be un-livable is a few years.

Great stay closer to nature
We really liked the cabin. Space was more than enough for us. We had 4 adults and a toddler. There arent much eating options around but within 15 mins drive you can find plenty. For checking in you have to go to the admin building and get a car tag and you have to buy daily beach passes if you want to use the lake/pool or other facilities. It was like 6 dollars a day per person. I highly recommend to buy it because the private lake is wayyyyy more cleaner and nicer than the public lake access which is also a couple of mins away. The cabin pretty much has everything, so it's well equipped with a coffee machine, stove and a grill etc. Karen is so nice and very responsive. It's a great place to enjoy the nature . The private lake access is about 4-5 mins drive from the cabin. overall we had a pleasant stay.

Very enjoyable place and area
It is location that won’t disappoint. The home was great to stay in. Nestled off the road, you have your privacy. You will see deer, turkeys in tree amongst other animals. The place was clean and relaxing. The home is a part of an association which gives you quick access to a couple beaches, lakes, boats, pool and clubhouse. My wife, 4 year old loves it there. It was well worth the money spent.

About the host

I have been vacationing on the Poconos since I was a child, specifically in the Gouldsboro area as my family had a property when I was child in the area for camping. I enjoy the quiet of the mountains and the relaxed setting. There is an abundance of nature including lakes for kayaking, swimming and trails for hiking.

Why they chose this property

With many fond memories of vacationing at Gouldsboro State Park and swimming in the lake, cooking on the beach and playing frisbie on the sand, there was no other place that I wanted to permanently establish as a vacation spot. It is my hope that other people will share these fond memories and make it a tradition to visit every year and enjoy the surrounding amenties.

What makes this property unique

There is nothing better than waking up and sitting outside on the bedroom balcony listening to nature in a wooded setting with no one around you while you drink coffee or tea and read a magazine or paper. There serenity and fresh air add life and renewal in such a short time.
