Amazing Condo and View

This was the second time we’ve stayed at the Honui Kai and this Condo is everything you could want in a 3 bedroom / 3 bathroom unit. Also, the 2 queen beds in the 3rd bedroom is definitely an added bonus, and the view is simple amazing! The unit was very clean and the property manager did a great job with any needs we had. We would easily stay in this unit again.

This is our second time at Honua Kai, and the first time in this room. It met or exceeded our expectations at every turn. The view of the room is obviously the star, but everything else is wonderful as well. Comfortable beds and furniture, amenities/supplies were generous, and they had lots of extras for beach play, and items specifically for our toddler. Speaking of that, one of the pack and plays was broken, but luckily they had 2, so we didn't have any issue. The host told me to discard the broken one, and placed an order for a new one right away for the next guests that may need it.We still love Honua Kai as a whole. We were worried in the 10 years since our last visit for our honeymoon that the property might be showing it's age, but it was just as lovely and well taken care of as it was upon our first visit.Our experience was great, the communication was always on point, and the Aloha has once again invigorated our spirit. We can't wait to return! A few small notes, the oven has had it's numbers/arrow worn off, so we did burn the heck out of our bacon, so that's a tiny area of improvement. Also some felt pads for the lanai chairs to make them less noisy when moving them around. They were pretty heavy to lift and move, so most of the time we scooted them, and they made a lot of noise.Those tiny gripes don't distract from the otherwise wonderful stay at all.

Beautiful property, very friendly and helpful staff, perfect view from balcony looking at the beach. Dukes Restaurant was excellent and convenient. Owner and property manager quick to respond to any questions. Rooms all spacious and large dining and living area. Condo very well stocked. Wonderful place to stay! We enjoyed our 8 days here. Watched some exciting Basketball at the Maui Invitational.

Favorite vacation ever

Amazing views. Clean. Comfortable furniture. Big kitchen. Awesome resort with lots to do for kids. Very responsive owner and property management company. Restaurant on resort is delicious and convenient with great cocktails. Would stay again!!!

Superb accomadations

View of the mountains was amazing. Price was fair. Everything we needed for our honeymoon. Beach was perfect for snorkelling, saw tons of fish, and sea turtles. Not ideal of swimming close to shore due to reefs but maybe 20 fit from shore was fine. Close access to supermarkets. Kitchen had everything we needed. owner was attentive and ant above and beyond.

Excellent!!!

The condo was perfect!! Very clean & comfortable with great views of the Maui mountains; beautiful rainbows. The condo had everything needed for a fun filled day at the beach; chairs, towels, boogie boards, coolers, etc. it also was well stocked with necessities; laundry soap, bathroom soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and everything needed for the kitchen. Shafeeq followed up with us before & during our trip to make sure we had all of the details as well as ensuring we were happy with the condo. I highly recommend staying in this condo!! It was the perfect place to stay for our perfect vacation!!

Walked in and looked like online pictures. Looked closer and furniture/chairs/ carpet was filthy. Some of the chairs were a bit broken. Whoever does the cleaning the floors and outdoor patio were filthy dirty and all of us needed shoes on the entire time or your feet were black!! Beds were good in all rooms…extra towels instead on 1 per person would have been great as there were NO rugs on any floor except the dirty one in family room which no one could sit on. All and all the location, view were wonderful

Great Resort, OK Room

Honua Kai is a amazing review. Gigantic property at a great location with amazing pools and perfectly manicured beach close to stunning snorkeling. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is two fold. One, the bedroom hears a lot of elevator noise from it going up and down. Can be quite bothersome for a light sleeper like me. Two, the bathroom is small and needs to be updated. No bathroom access from master bath. But the kitchen is wonderful and the view spectacular.

Amazing Condo! Incredible Resort!

As someone who normally tries to book accommodations with ocean views, this was my first experience in booking something with a Mountain view. I can't tell you how much my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staring out at the mountains and the lush island daily. It was absolutely beautiful. The actual unit itself was incredibly comfortable so much so that my husband made a point several times throughout our stay to tell me that he could really see himself living in a space just like it! When I initially found this listing I was extremely excited due to the price being incredibly reasonable compared to some other listings at Honua Kai. I am so happy that we chose to stay here and experience this beautiful resort. I was also incredibly impressed by the excellent communication from Shaffeeq since our moment of booking his unit. Couldn't have rented from a better property owner!

An exceptional resort, and beautiful room!

A ton of positives to this resort and condo. The entrance to the resort is amazing! My family of 4 found the snorkeling right in front of the resort, to be some of the best on the island. Within an hour of arriving at Honua Kai, we snorkeled and saw every fish from Finding Nemo, including Crush the turtle. The pools at the resort are perfect for the entire family, and we all went down the water slide. If you are a runner, just hit the beach walk right in front of the resort, and head south. If you do the whole out and back on the beach walk/run, you will get about 6 miles, and then head back to the lobby for pineapple infused ice water. The gym at the Honua Kai, had excellent equipment. The only down side to the 10th floor room, was some elevator noise when others were traveling to the 10th floor. This must be a new noise, and Shafeeq is on top of making sure it is short lived. Shafeeq made us feel as if we were his friends, who were staying at his place. Super easy to talk to, and very thorough in making sure every detail was taken care of. The bed was super comfortable, beautiful linens, and the condo was very clean. If you are into boogie boarding, head to DT Flemming beach, just north of the Honua Kai. A very clean, and beautiful, public beach with the most excellent waves. There is a grocery store with in walking distance from the condo, and Dukes restaurant is perfect for a dinner out.

Amazing Vacation!!!

The resort was amazing! The room was amazing! The owner's were amazing! We loved our trip! My wife and I love coming to Maui and getting away from our hectic life for a week or two each year. For the last couple of years when we have come to Maui we have stayed in a few different resorts along Kaanapali Beach. This year was our first year traveling with our little 1.5 year girl and we wanted to stay at a family friendly resort with things for our little one to do which is what lead us to the Honua Kai Resort. Honua Kai is by far the nicest of the resorts we have stayed at along Kaanapali Beach. We couldn't have been more pleased. The resort was amazing with lots of young families and little kids running around. The lazy river, little kid pools, shady cabanas, and lots of grassy areas were perfect for our little one to enjoy. The quiet adult pool, hot tubs, ocean, and everything else the resort had to offer were perfect for the adults to enjoy! The room was very nice with everything you would need to make the stay perfect. There is a microwave, stove-top/oven range, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, free internet connection, cable TV, BlueRay/DVD player, nice patio, etc. It was a perfect room for what we wanted and needed. The room isn't an ocean view room, but we new that going into this which saved us some money vs. the ocean view rooms. We spent almost all of our time at the pool, beach, or on the walking trailing running into town anyways. There is a grocery store right next to the resort where you can load up on groceries and you can save some money by cooking some of your own meals vs. eating out. There are several car rental places near the resort too which is nice. It happened to work at where the owner, Shafeeq, and his family were vacationing at the resort the week before us and were leaving on the day we arrived so we got a chance to meet him and one of his cute little kids. Shafeeq was great to work with and made sure that everything about the trip was smooth, relaxing, and enjoyable. Thanks Shafeeq! We plan on coming back every year. If we could make it work we would buy a place at Honua Kai, but for now we will just keep renting a room from Shafeeq for a week or two each year until we can make the finances work. We would 100% recommend staying here to anybody!

Pros Clean condo and awesome views. Everything we needed was provided. We used the beach chairs a lot. Market within walking distance and loved the pools. Dukes food was amazing and we wanted to eat there as much as we could. Cons. Some of the items were damaged like the toilet paper holder and hand towel holders. Took us a minute to figure out the showers. Exterior chair cushions were ripped. Thermostat would reset every night and we would have to adjust it to keep it cool.Overall a great location and experience. Would go back if we could.

Family vacation

We had a great time at this location! Communication was handled so quickly, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen nicely appointed! View offered incredible whale watching daily and that was a highlight!! Enjoyed the beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and boogie boards.Fun to be close to Dukes for dinner and lunch out when we wanted. Enjoyed using the grills down by the pool too! Would stay here again and highly recommend! Our family of 6 adults and 2 kids were very comfortable!!

The perfect vacation

We loved the view with the whales right out our balcony. The kids loved the pools and swam until they were exhausted. The beds were comfortable and it was the perfect space for a family.
