The apartment was wonderful. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and was very accessible for questions that arose. The location was perfect for our needs. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location & layout, clean & well maintained!

Tzvi was a pleasure to deal with. He met us at the apartment and showed us everything we needed to know to make our stay comfortable. The apartment itself was in a great location very close to Emek Refaim in a really nice neighborhood. There are multiple quality restaurants, bakeries and grocery stores within close proximity. Our family of 6 were very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed, including a Kosher kitchen, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, living room with a comfortable large couch and a spacious eating area. Everything was well-maintained, clean, and the apartment was fully stocked. Definitely would recommend this property and would stay here again.

Great find! Very comfortable for a family.

We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It was very comfortable and provided everything we needed. There was plenty of room for our family (2 parents, one grandmother, 3 older teen/young adult kids). The location is excellent - just a couple blocks from all the stores, restaurants and buses on Emek Refaim and Rachel Imenu. The kitchen is kosher (the owners take this seriously) and well-stocked, and utensils were labeled clearly, which we appreciated. We would definitely stay there again if we have an opportunity. Thank you!

The best vacation rental value in Jerusalem!

The Shostak apartment at Rehov Rut 11 is the best vacation value in Jerusalem! It’s location is superb, on an attractive, tree-lined residential street that is a one or two minute walk from Emek Refaim, the main shopping street for restaurants and supermarkets. The apartment is large, clean, extremely well-kept, and is stocked with just about everything a vacationing family might want...right down to the numbers of three local taxis posted on the refrigerator. The owner is a pleasure to deal with, and his fee structure is most reasonable.

Comfortable, kosher, central Jerusalem apartment

My family and I spent two weeks in this lovely and well located Jerusalem apartment. It's the 3rd time we have stayed here in the past couple of years! The location is fantastic - heart of German Colony and walking distance from numerous restaurants and synagogues. The furnishings are comfortable, kitchen is kosher ( a big + for us), and the apt includes a washer/dryer and WiFi. We were able to host 15 guests for dinner in the spacious DR! Tzvi, the owner, is very responsive to any needs or questions. I would certainly stay there again!

THRILLED beyond belief!

AMAZING! Not a detail was omitted. A perfect place to be home away from home! Perfect location, quiet street, comfortable, spacious, completely appointed kitchen, bath etc. and every amenity imaginable. Immaculate and everything up to date. The WELCOME booklet was invaluable. I can't say enough good things about 438301! Access to Emek Refaiim, as well as access to Tachana Rishona and a managable walk to the Old City if you're a walker. I would recommend this property 1000%!.

True home away from home!

We spent three weeks in this apartment and it felt like home. Apartment is very large and comfortable. Owners thought of every detail starting from very cozy couch in the living room, large table in the dining room, very comfortable beds and very well equipped kitchen. Perfect location, close to shops , playgrounds and places to eat out. We were able to walk to Kotel with our 4 little children. We will be back!

Gem of an apartment

Over the years my wife and I have stayed in many apartments in Jerusalem-- in Rehavia, Baka, and the German Colony-- and in many ways, this apartment was the most comfortable and easiest to stay in. Not the fanciest, but the most comfortable. The location of the apartment could not be better. The apartment is large, very well appointed, and-- what makes all the difference-- Tzvi and Gladys, the owner and manager, supply guests not only with the basics but the small things that make staying in the apartment so easy-- shampoo in the bathrooms, loads of toilet paper, coffee, sugar, the Israeli equivalent of Sweet and Low, a havdalah candle and besomim box, even a small bottle of grape juice. Tzvi and Gladys are extremely responsive-- we had problems with the TV set, and they had the box replaced within two days. As previous guests have stated, my only hesitation in writing this review is the fear that it will make booking the place more difficult in the future. Very strongly recommended.

German Colony Gem

The hardest part about writing this review is our concern that it will make it more difficult for us to book a return visit! We spent 3 months in this apartment while on sabbatical in Israel and couldn't have been happier. The apartment is conveniently located near Emek Refaim, the Rakevet, the Takana, and shopping, dining, learning, and davening opportunities galore. The owner is attentive to every need and close to immediately responsive when issues come up. The apartment is clean, comfortable, stocked and set-up in a very thoughtful and functional way. And the building is quiet and well-tended. We plan to come back and you will too!

A home away from home

My family of 4 (parents and 2 teenagers) had a wonderful stay in this apartment over the Passover vacation. The location could not be better, but more importantly the apartment is so clean, well maintained and beautifully managed that I would choose to stay here anytime because I know that my family's expectations will be met. The apartment is stocked with anything you could need, the bedrooms are spacious and, we were able to entertain guests over the holiday because the kosher kitchen was so well supplied. It was truly a home away from home. We have stayed in other apartment rentals in Jerusalem before and this was by far the best.

Great Rental in the German Colony

The best recommendation I can give is that we are return visitors; we are renting this apartment for another month long stay in 2015 and I rented it for a week for my kids when they were in Jerusalem in May. The apartment is exactly as advertised and the owner, who lives nearby, is quick to respond if there is a problem. In fact, he checks in from time to time to make sure that everything is ok. The kosher kitchen is well equipped (particularly for meat) and we entertained 16 on shabbat. The owner is attentive to detail and thoughtfully stocks the apartment with living items like toilet tissue, paper towels, detergent and tin foil—something not all landlords do. The apartment, which easily sleeps 6, is two blocks from Emek Refaim, and we had great restaurants and bakeries less than 5 minutes away. Downtown Jerusalem is a 20 minute walk. The apartment is on the first floor and there is no elevator, but the staircase is wide and the 12 steps are easy. We have rented other apartments in Jerusalem and much prefer this one. If you want a glossy apartment, this apartment is not for you. If you want a comfortable, usable apartment that is perfectly situated, and where you can make yourself at home, this is the place.

Great time in Jerusalem!

We just returned from a 2 week stay in the German colony apt and had a wonderful experience. We were there for my daughter's wedding and were looking for a homey, comfortable place to accommodate our family of 5. The apt was just as it looks in the pictures. It was very clean and roomy and had plenty of heat and hot water, essential for a fall/winter time rental. The owner, Tzvi, was extremely responsive to us from the very first email we sent expressing out interest in the apt, to the day we left. He even called us a few times during our stay to make sure everything was going well. The apt was very well equipped with soap, toilet paper, tissues, extra towels, dishware, etc as well as religious objects such as shabbos candlesticks, a havdala set and even a chanukah menorah. The location was great, just a short walk to Emek Refaim with many restaurants, a supermarket and buses downtown. We had a rented car and although there was no designated parking spot, we were always able to find a spot in the free parking lot around the corner. We will definitely recommend this apt to our friends and hope to return again on future visits to Jerusalem.

Very comfortable, great location.

This apartment is in a lovely building on a side street in German Colony, Jerusalem. The bedrooms are nicely arranged. It is very clean, and the owner stocks it generously with tissues, toilet paper, etc., that others do not. The location cannot be beat. Near Emek Refaim. Easy walk into the middle of Jerusalem. I would rent this apartment again.

My wife and I spent three weeks visiting in Jerusalem.

We had a wonderful vacation . The apartment was clean ,roomy and very comfortable in a great location . Any time we needed to contact the owner he responded quickly. We enjoyed the numerous restaurants stores and coffee shops within walking distance . There were many synagogues to choose from and many lectures and, concerts in the area . We enjoy getting around by bus and found it very easy to get wherever we were going . We look forward to being able to return .

It really doesn't get much better than this

I have stayed in many apartments in Jerusalem, and I have never had a bad experience. This apartment not only maintained that record but really exceeded all expectations. I unhesitatingly recommend this property. It was great for our family, and the owner was so easy to deal with. The location is wonderful, just a minute off Emek Refaim, so you get the best of both worlds: proximity to a hot spot, and enough distance from the traffic on it. The apartment is spotless, well-kept, and nicely arranged. There is even a cable TV (but who has time for TV when visiting Israel?) We are a family of four, and the three bedrooms were perfect. We even invited a guest for two of the nights we were there, and our kids had no trouble bunking together those nights as there are plenty of beds. The master bedroom was very comfortable; I'm sure it helped ease the jet lag away. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook, but we only used it to warm up Shabbat food. The rest of the time we ate out in the stunning array of restaurants on Emek. We did not come close to eating in them all. There is a supermarket (Israeli version) on Emek, where you can get basically anything you might need. If you can't find it there, you'll get it at the Mega about a mile away. It's less than 30 minutes to get to the kotel from here, and it was a pleasure to walk back. Walking to the kotel is more uphill, so plan accordingly. Although the apartment does not have a dedicated parking spot, I never had any trouble finding a place to park on the street. It's paid parking from 8 am to 8 pm, but if you're resourceful you will find something free nearby. In short, my family and I loved this apartment -- for its space, its convenience, and, of course, its location, location, location. I wholeheartedly recommend it to others, and I will be sure to come back here again and again.

location, location, location -- and a great place for a family.

Location, location, location. Just minutes from Emek Refaim, in the heart of the German colony, this comfortable three bedroom is ideally suited for a family. We stayed there for four months, from August through December 2012 (on an academic sabbatical), with four children, ranging in age from 11 down to 2. The apartment was well-maintained and tastefully decorated, the kosher kitchen was well stocked (we hosted a Shabbat dinner for 15 on dishes!), and the landlord, Tzvi, was extremely responsive when occasional issues did arise (such as a burned-out fuse). And he's honest to boot -- which is a rare commodity in a landlord. Not only that, but Tzvi gave up his tav haniya (regional parking permit), associated with the apartment, so we could get one for our car. It's not especially inexpensive, but what do you expect for a furnished three bedroom in the Moshava Germanit? This apartment was just perfect for our family, and it was a great home away from home for four months. Were we to return to Israel, no question that we'd stay there again.
