Stay in a charming piece of history at the former carriage house of the historic Kemp Estate, a beautiful Tudor Revival property dating back to the 1930s. This private, first-floor apartment blends historic character with modern comforts, making it a welcoming home base for couples, families, and small groups.

The Space

This approximately 750-square-foot apartment comfortably accommodates up to four guests, with two bedrooms and three beds. The primary bedroom features a queen bed, full closet, and private en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom offers a daybed with a twin trundle, along with a closet, dresser, and desk.

The fully equipped kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and dining area. Relax in the living space with a Smart TV, or enjoy your morning coffee on the private patio.

This cute little place was perfect for our weekend stay in historic Ocala. It was clean and communication was excellent. We ended up not bringing our dog. We met one of the owners on site. He was very friendly and offered some dining suggestions. Close to downtown,good restaurants and shops/market.

Great Ocala Location

My family had a fantastic week here - we walked downtown every night for dinner. A lovely walk with tall trees and beautiful 100 year old homes. The VRBO was comfortable, clean and perfect for my family. I highly recommend Ocala and the stay here made it even better.

Charming well appointed property in a great location. The Carriage House was as advertised and very convenient to the historic downtown area and all the restaurants, shops and entertainment. The hosts were very gracious and responded in minutes to any inquiry. We've stayed at the hotel downtown but this was a much nice place to stay. The cottage will now be our "go to" place when we want to spend time in downtown Ocala. It's also located in a lovely, quiet historic neighborhood. As mentioned our hosts were wonderful too which added to overall satisfaction with our stay. We would recommend the Carriage House without hesitation and look forward to our next visit!

Charm and Convenience in One

Everything about this property was great. It was just as described and easy to locate. Check-in process simple and hassle free. Decore was so cute and charming and the neighborhood is amazing, located and surrounded by beautiful, historical, southern homes. Very convenient to historic down town and area attractions. Everything was so perfect we never needed to contact the hose but she did reach out several times to make sure everything was good. Will definitely stay there when in the area.

We just returned from our second stay at the Carriage House in Ocala’s Historic District, and we’re already planning our third trip next year!Every 4th of July we load up the Jeep for a 9–11 day vacation based in Ocala. It’s the perfect central spot — only a couple hours to completely different adventures. One day we’re off-roading in Ocala National Forest, the next we’re exploring St. Augustine, Mount Dora, Daytona, Cedar Key, and more.The Carriage House is clean, comfortable, and has everything we need: a 2-bedroom, 1-bath layout, fully equipped kitchen, coffee bar, welcome snack basket, and a nice reclining couch with TV for chill nights.The owners, JP & Jill, are fantastic. They’re always a quick phone call away and incredibly accommodating. When my wife got sunburned, JP immediately brought over aloe and lotion — that kind of care really stands out.The location is unbeatable. You’re walking distance to downtown’s great restaurants and craft breweries. The Historic District is full of beautiful late 1800s/early 1900s homes, and the surrounding area offers tons of history, old forts, and forest trails for 4x4 fun.We highly recommend the Carriage House. Clean, comfortable, perfectly located, and hosted by truly wonderful people. Book it — you won’t regret it!

Absolutely Perfect!!

We couldn’t had asked for more. Our lovely cottage, the friendliness of the owners, the amazing historical district, the shops, the food, I could go on and on. This place is the best! We’ve stayed in or around Ocala for the last 5 years for the week of the 4th. This was the 1st year we changed it up and stayed in the historical district. What an upgrade!! If we could give more than 5 stars we would! We will be back next year!!!
