The house exceeded all of our needs for 5 couples. The place was extremely clean, and felt like home for a weekend. The BBQ was the best pit I’ve had at a VRBO, it was a large pit with a smoker on one end which made grilling steaks and hamburgers easy for 10 people. It rained a majority of our stay, and if I had one small complaint, it would be lack of cover getting from downstairs to upstairs in the rain. But I would definitely stay here again in the future.
We absolutely loved the location and the private beach that comes with this home. It was spacious enough for two families to share and the walk to the beach was short. We would definitely stay here again.
We had 15 family members from Ohio Arkansas and Texas on vacation together . This house had plenty of space and never felt crowded. The house was beautiful and we were able to check in eairl . The host was verry helpful and responded quickly. Over all it was a great experience
In short words: THE BEST AND AMAZING PLACE, ..Plenty of space, EVERYTHING we NEEDED we had it.. PLEASEdo not hesitate to rent this incredible property.
The property was great. We stayed at this property in 2022. It was refreshed inside and out very nicely. No one has any complaints. The kitchen was great, and the bedrooms were comfortable. I personally could have used a few more pans but it was well supplied.
We had a quick weekend stay. The house is truly awesome. The elevator is a complete life savor with my elderly parents. I wish we could of spent more time there.
The communication was excellent. They answered all of our questions promptly The only thing that I found a bit odd were the door looks. I took a little while to get it figured out, but besides that the property is beautiful, the upper decks and views are awesome.
I would definitely do it again.
Nice quiet location not far from Galveston. Great beach only a couple blocks away(we walked). Nice big home, clean, good spaces, nice master, outdoor shower and the elevator for luggage was a bonus :) Thanks. The McCall Family

Home has a GREAT floorplan.
Perfect for our group that consisted of 5 couples.
Deck is huge with two living areas, 3.5 bathrooms, lots of windows for natural light and all the bedrooms had actual closets
We are already planning to reserve again next year!
Clean. Only 4 partial rolls of toilet paper for a place that sleeps 17. When we called for a few rolls of toilet paper, we were told they only provide starter paper although there were combination lock cabinets with paper. Very poor customer service. We were texted a few hours later after we had to make the trip for more. Something needs to be done with the stairs. The handrail does not go all the way to the bottom of the staircase and the last step blends with the flooring below. We had 2 elderly people fall on the last steps and one is currently in the hospital with a fractured hip. Also, we took the garbage out to find that 3 of the 4 cans were already full including building materialsr they
The property owner was great. She answered any questions i had before the trip. She texted me the daybwe were arrivingbto let us know the house was ready early. The elevator was so helpful with taking groceries and luggage upstairs. The location Was great. My grandkids ebjoyed the week there. Bedrooms worked out perfect for a group of 12. We would stay there again
Mesquios are terrible, low water pressure on showers up stairs, not sure if freezer wiles on ice box
The house was beautiful, we enjoyed the stay. Thank you

Very Nice.
The house was very nice and well kept. Owner was very friendly. Plenty of seating for meals. Owner supplied lots of board games, volleyball, badminton, horseshoes, etc. About a 10 minute walk to beach. Well furnished. Nice decks.

Multiple family vacation
My girlfriends and I brought our kids down for Labor Day weekend while our husbands had a "guys retreat". We loved the layout of the house - all the kids stayed upstairs and the adults got some quiet time on the main floor. Large dining room table made group meals so easy. We hope to make this an annual event! Thanks, Marisol.

No internet during our stays. Stove not working properly. We wouldn’t be back
This is a beautiful property that sits in a safe, quiet, clean neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of Galveston. The home is spacious, well stocked with linen and kitchen tools/dishes. The A/C is cold and the hot water is hot for all 10 of us! The separate living spaces allows for the kids to have a space to watch TV and play. The washer and dryer, while dated, works great. The outside shower has warm water and works great to get the sand off. The yard is spacious and well manicures, but watch out for fire ants! The swing set is a little rickety, but held up! We had a wonderful stay and the owner is easy to reach and very nice! Great for large, multi-family use.

Not impressed
From the outside the property looked nice. We could not use the lower level outside area at all due to the numerous mosquitos. The inside was cleanish. But we were displeased with the old couch with a cover on it (which was used to hide the severely worn parts) We were told they were delivering a new one but never did. We were also told they were sending someone to fix the microwave but never did. The rooms were good and fit our 2 families well. Plenty of room for our 2 families of 5 plus my inlaws.

Very dirty
When we arrived at the rental, the lockbox was opened and broken off. So no key was in the box. Called the contact and she answered right away. She led me to the another key.
Within 5 minutes of being there, walking up the stairs a picture is falling to the ground. Again - called the contact answered right away.
Getting into the house and walking around, it was very very dirty. The floor was not swept or mopped. There was clumps of hair on the bathroom floors, used eyelashes on the counter and all over the floor. Fingernails on the chairs. Unopened condoms stuck in decorations. Piles of dirt on the floor. The decks had chairs flung around, trash lying around. We’ve had to go to the store for cleaning stuff and spend hours cleaning just so we could stay there. I reached out to the contact - now no reply. 2 days later - still haven’t heard anything from her.
The living room furniture was outdated and not in good shape. Also dining room table was very wobbly.
Overall, the house was ok. Upstairs was nice and the house was very roomy. Elevator was a plus since we had elderly and handicapped people. Pictures shown are not updated to what the house actually looks like.

Great family vacation house
We brought 4 families plus grandmother for a family trip to the beach. The rooms with bunks and futons were perfect for the kids ranging in age from 1 to 9. The elevator made it so much easier to get all our stuff up and down instead of having to use the stairs. The beach is an easy 4 block walk from the house--just be aware that you have to cross a fairly busy highway with no light (it wasn't a problem, just have to watch the children). The upstairs family room was great for the kids to watch TV and play while we cooked in the spacious and well stocked kitchen. It was unfortunate that the microwave and dishwasher were not working when we stayed. The only small thing that could have been better were the bath towels. They are small and thin and only 12 provided even though the listing says the house sleeps 14. You might want to bring extra towels, or you will be using beach towels for the house! There were also just 3 kitchen towels provided, which weren't enough since we had to do dishes by hand. Also, bring laundry detergent if you plan on washing more than 4 loads with the 4 pods provided--and if you have children you just might!!
It was great to have two tables so that we could actually seat everyone. Some of the chairs at the smaller table are a little rickety--seem on the verge of breaking, but we had babies so we didn't have to use them.
The beds were comfortable (pillows not so much) and the rooms were large and light filled with many windows and doors leading to the decks all around the house. The guys grilled on the large grill but unfortunately because of the rain, the kids never got to play on the cute playset. If it hadn't been raining so much, we would have been disappointed that the volleyball net was in shreds and needed replacing.
Overall a really great place--we would go back! It was a great place for our families to meet up.
Entering the house requires climbing 3 flights of stairs. We came in after dark to unlit stairs. Once we got in the house we expected to turn on the outside lights to see to unload everything. Only a couple of lights worked so we had to use the car lights and our phones to see to bring everything in. We expected to be able to use the patio for supper but could but since the lights did not work. When we reported this we were told they would fix it after we left since it was not an emergency. We were told we could take some bulbs out of the kitchen fixtures and put them outside. The fixtures were in such bad shape we did not do that. I sent them a picture of the fixture and asked again to get them fixed. This time the manager said they were on vacation and could not do anything about it.
The dishwasher was not connected to the cabinet on one side. The disposal was stopped up so the dishwasher drained into the sink. We fixed that. The ice maker in the refrigerator made almost no ice.
There were not nearly enough towels so we had to wash towels. There was no detergent for that. This was by far the least stocked house we have ever stayed in. Fortunately we brought all the pans and such we needed to cook with.
The grill we wanted to use was disgustingly dirty and rusty.
We rent these type houses usually two times a year. This was by far the worst experience we have ever had. We have never been treated so dismissively by a manager or been in a house that was in such shape.
The property was amazing, but the allowable amount said cars for parking doesn’t accommodate the amount of people allowed to stay.

About the host
Hosted by Marisol Mendez
My name is Marisol Mendez and I manage Miracle of the Sea Vacation Beach Home for my mother-in-law. My husband Estevan built this dream home for my mother-in-law( Maqui). Maqui took an interest in having a beach house as an investment/getaway for the family. Every year, for the past 10 years, Maqui has taken the initiative to plan the family vacations for us throughout the United States and one in Acapulco, Mexico. Maqui would make plans for her 2 sons, daughter-in-laws, 1 daughter, son-in-law, and 10 grandkids. We wanted to make the best out of the short time and cherish those memories. Where your vacation is equally as important as where you stay.
Why they chose this property
Miracle of the Sea is great place to relax and build some fond memories. It is a direct result of the likes and dislikes of our vacation experiences. Miracle of the Sea truly is unique. The property description and pictures don’t do it justice. We have gone above and beyond the norm to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We enjoy it every chance we get and now available for others to enjoy it as well.
