Third year staying here for our friends and family " Baycation". Great location, beautiful home with everything you need. We fished and crabbed from the pier, and took our boat out for crabbing. We look forward to staying there again next year. Great neighbors too.
We had perfect weather to enjoy this great property. When we weren't in the water or on the dock we spent lots of time in the screened in porch playing games, eating crabs and watching movies.
I stayed at this race for Ironman Maryland and it had everything I needed to enjoy my stay and prepare for the race. It was spacious, clean, close to the race site, and had ample opportunity to do some shakeout training sessions before. Lisa was a wonderful and responsive host and I will absolutely be back!
This was a great house. The kids loved hanging out on the dock and fishing/crabbing. It was the perfect location for the Ironman, it was away from the center of town so we could relax and enjoy our time. The house was very clean and updated. We had a great time.
We had a great time! The pier was perfect for crabbing and fishing. The whole family enjoyed the outdoor “toys” and kept us entertained. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. We brought our own kayak and the cove was perfect for all the paddle sports. Definitely recommend!
The property was warm and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The owner/property manager was very helpful. Just exceptional!
I completed Ironman Maryland and this location was about a 15 minute drive from the venue. Everyone is so pleasant and welcoming that I would go back in a moment. But for me, this was a “one and done” lifetime goal.
If you are coming here for the Ironman, book this property!

Congratulations on your inspiring accomplishment!! We are so glad that you felt comfortable. Thank you for taking good care of our home! We hope you’ll come back another time just to relax.
We were agroup of 6 family and friends over age of 60. We spent our week fishing, crabbing and beer tasting. The house was perfect , the pier and fire pit were used daily. We caught a bunch of crabs everyday, steaming them each night. Steve and Lisa contacted us to see if we needed anything. We already booked the home dor Sept 2024. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
The home was very well equipped with everything that one could possibly need. The amenities were plentiful. form the kitchen to the outdoor equipment. The place was very comfortable and cool during the heat wave. The screened in porch was a great place to enjoy coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. It was very peaceful listening to the birds. The eagles and osprey were amazing to watch. The town of Cambridge is a quaint with lots of choices of eateries. The hosts were nice, very informative and were quick to answer any of our questions. It's a great place for a family vacation.
I rented this house for my family (3 young kids) and parents for a long weekend stay. The kids had a blast as there are many cool “toys” at the house including foosball table. My parents enjoyed spending time with their grandkids, and they spent time at the dock just throwing rocks in the water. I really loved the screened in porch with full dining table, it was a beautiful quiet place for morning coffee and family lunch. The house had many other amenities (especially water toys) and I wish we had booked even more time to enjoy them. The backdrop of the property, being on the bay with unobstructed sunset view, was really amazing. The booking process and communications with owner were smooth, clear, and actually quite easy which I appreciated.
The location on the bay was absolutely beautiful, some of the best sunsets you will ever see. The home was spacious, clean and comfortable with plenty of room for my family of six to spread out. The house had a well equipped kitchen for cooking large meals, and the outdoor crab pot came in handy!
We spent most of our time on the water with the paddle boards or fishing/ crabbing from the dock. And the fire ring got good use too.
Just a wonderful spot for a family vacation!
Thanks again for everything!
The house is actually better than the photos show! Spacious and comfortable for our party of 8, 4 of which were young children. Plenty of empty cabinets to put all our stuff and FULLY stocked for everything you could need. The yard was huge and fun for them to run and be free, even in the 108 heat index. We loved watching the crabs and sunsets right off the dock. I will say that a hot August week might not have been the right time to visit since the water was really warm and a little stinky, but it didn’t stop us from getting in and playing on the various water toys available! Also, it’s pretty grassy right off the dock, but we got used to it.
My family had a wonderful time staying at this lovely bay home near Cambridge. The home is even nicer than the pictures show. Each room was comfortable and spacious. We totally enjoyed all the water toys and bikes. We even caught a few crabs off the dock. The sunsets were amazing. We loved the screened in porch!
Second year even better than the first. We stayed at this property last summer and had a great time. The house is beautiful and comes with all the water toys you could ever use. The owners were amazingly accommodating. We love it and hope to do it every year
A great location to stay for Ironman Maryland, so close to the parking areas, shuttles, transition, and VERY close to the bike course for spectating! Very much enjoyed the proximity to the race, and the tranquility of the property. Waterfront exactly as pictured, beautiful views of sun rises and sunsets.
Highly recommended - lovely property, quiet, right on the water with a screened in porch facing the bay so you can watch the sunset. Firepit with comfortable seating for the night, swings and hammocks for relaxing. Paddleboards and canoe for enjoying the water - really something for everyone!
What an amazing property! The house was very clean upon arrival, and bigger than it looks. The backyard is huge and open, plenty of room for the kids to run around!
Most reviews mention the sunset and there's a reason...amazing! Other than one cloudy evening we were treated to some of the most beautiful sunsets throughout the week. Picture perfect!
So many amenities come with the property, peddle boat, canoe, paddle boards, bikes...we were definitely never bored. Very nice dock in great condition, caught several non-keeper Perch and a handful of crabs with the traps provided.
Highly recommend a local place called Soft & Salty. Prepared foods Fri-Sun (we got crab cakes, soft shell crabs, a few different soups and a Smith Island cake) as well as live crabs and bait available all week. Only a few min drive from the property. Having the crab pot at the house was excellent.
We did go into Cambridge for an afternoon, great lunch at Snappers, also a solid brewery in town, RAR. We also went to the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad site & museum. Definitely recommend, especially for school-aged kids.
This was the 4th or 5th house for us in the Chesapeake region, and our favorite so far. Would highly recommend!!
The house was lovely- great space for gathering, socializing, cooking (including fresh-caught crabs) and eating. My family and I very much enjoyed the house. Every thing was wonderfully clean and pretty much up to date. Lovely views and amazing sunsets. Very comfortable but note, internet access is limited and cell coverage sporadic but can somewhat address if you bring a hotspot. Fully equipped with bikes, paddle boards, canoe and a nicely setup fire pit for s’mores. We definitively will want to come back again.
We could not have been more pleased! The highlight was the magnificent sunsets every evening! Words cannot adequately describe them. We definitely wii be going back!
This was a beautiful waterfront home around Cambridge. It was incredibly clean and welcoming. It had the some of the most beautiful sunsets that I have ever seen. We caught crabs and fish. There are also two locations nearby where we bought crabs at a very reasonable price. It appealed to both the adults of our group as well as the kids, ages 5-9. The owners of the property could not have been more accommodating. They let us use their paddle boards, paddle boats, canoe, grills and etc. It was a great experience from finding the property to the end of the vacation. All three of the kids cried when we had to leave. I would recommend it highly.
Our family and friends spent a great week at the property, enjoying the bay and summer sunsets. The house had lots of outdoor gear that we could use on the water which we all enjoyed. The water is quite shallow at this point on the bay, but it worked great for my kids who are younger and allowed them to play with more confidence in the water. The house has lots of updates and the screened in porch was where we spent most of our time, dining and playing games. Overall a very nice propriety that we would definitely come back to again!

About the host
Hosted by Lisa and Steve Scarbath
We are a busy family of 5 with a love of the water!
Why they chose this property
Steve has always wanted property on the bay in Cambridge to enjoy his love of fishing. When this property came onto the market, we couldn't resist. It had been neglected and vacant for a period of time, but we fell in love with the view and the potential of the house. While there is still room for improvement, we are proud to be able to share our accomplishments...Newly sanded and white washed hardwood floors throughout the bedrooms and living area, new laminate floors in the kitchen, dining, laundry, half bath and master suite. Freshly painted with new ceiling fans in every room. All new HVAC, tankless water heater, kitchen and laundry appliances in 2016!
Because we are so busy, we are not able to stay at Baydreams as often as we would like. We don't like the thought of the house being empty, so we hope to share the property with others who are looking for a family getaway and will also appreciate the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay.
What makes this property unique
Sunsets and the water are what make our property spectacular! The house is comfortable with many updates and wonderful open spaces in the living areas and porch.
