Casa Vida in Altos los Cafetales Gated community. Beautiful mountain location, only 1 hour away from San Jose and 1.5 hours to the Pacific coast. Located in Altos Los Cafetales, a gated community 10 minutes away from Santiago de Puriscal. Relax in this peaceful location surrounded by lush biodiversity, native tree species, and coffee trees. Wake up to the sounds of birds and enjoy daily walks either inside of the gated community or its surroundings.

The property is surrounded by coffee plantations and recreational properties, offering peace, tranquility, and spectacular views of San Jose and the Central Valley, both night and day

The house has 3 spacious bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 2400 square feet of living space on three acres of tropical vegetation
. The house easily sleeps up to 6 people making it perfect for family vacations or groups to share those special moments of a once in a lifetime vacation.

Pets are welcome! There is a flat pet fee of $50 for each stay. Animals in the house must be crated when left alone.

This is a brand new house, built in August of 2015.

Great place to relax and enjoy nature

Our family very enjoyed the many comforts and amenities of this lovely home. It is spacious and has comfortable furniture and beds. The kitchen is well supplied with pots and pans, dishes, utensils and appliances making it super-easy to prepare meals. There are 2 We felt very safe and we very much appreciated the peace and quiet, the big trees and lush greenery. The beautiful birds and other occasional visitors like iguanas and coati kept us entertained. The fiber optic wifi was great and we were able to stream and work on-line with no problems. It has 2 nice patios with outdoor furniture and hammocks. The house is very easy to access from the gate and it is a pretty easy drive into Puriscal from Altos de Cafetales. We hope to return soon! Thank you Ana and Juan Carlos!!

Wonderful home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home at Altos los Cafetales. The home is very spacious, has all the cooking amenities and super comfortable beds. There was ample space for all of to enjoy time together and still have some privacy. The fiber optic wifi gave us many options to connect to any streaming service or work remotely. We enjoyed sitting outside much of the day taking in the gorgeous views or just watching and listening to the incredible bird life. The gated community is very quiet and has many connecting roads in which we could walk each day. The host and the caretaker were both very attentive to any of our needs or questions. If you are looking a place to chill out, enjoy nature without the typical touristy hussel and bustle, then this is the place for you. We were here for 10 days and wish we could have stayed even longer. But we will return.

Ana and Juan live in Calgary, Canada. Juan is a semi retired engineer and Ana is an international languages teacher. We enjoy nature, as well as hiking and camping. In Canada, we enjoy camping trips in the summer with our two adult children and our dog. Our mid term plan is to spend the winter months in our property.

Why they chose this property

We enjoy the peaceful environment, surrounded by nature. We spend most mornings watching birds, iguanas, and wildlife. In the afternoon, we go for walks around the community or in the back roads. The location is close to Puriscal, where you can find groceries and basic necessities. It is also close to San Jose, and to the Pacific coastal towns. We often do day trips to Jaco, Playa Hermosa, and Los Sueños gated community.

What makes this property unique

Our house offers three comfortable bedrooms and two spacious bathrooms. It is located in a corner lot. Neighbours are close but not adjacent to our house.
