Property clean and inviting. Host was awesome…loved the period decor throughout and the hammocks in the backyard. Then there’s the dogs, a perfect compliment to a great weekend getaway.
The house is absolutely beautiful, filled with a lot of historical photos and gorgeous furniture, the room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The location itself is great being so close to the center of Gettysburg, everything you'll want to do or need to get is all within a 10 minute drive. Parking was a bit tight in the driveway as it was a busy weekend, but there was still more than enough room to get in and out when needed. Brad was a very gracious and helpful host. He was responding to texts when we had any questions & sent clear and concise info we needed to get into the house. The breakfast... Oh my, it was just perfect!! Waking up to the smell of sausage, potatoes, french toast and fresh coffee was a great start to help start and fuel our day. There was a guide to Gettysburg with local events and attractions to go to, as well as a coupon to a local restaurant which was much appreciated. We will definitely be back, 5 stars!!
We had the Lincoln room. It was very spacious, bed was comfortable and room was relatively quiet. We couldn't hear any of the other guests near us. Downsides was that the room would get very warm at night and I would suggest bring your own pillows. They were too flat for me. Also bring shampoo/conditioner LOL. This is probably the 1st time we've been to a B&B where this wasn't supplied but I'm not dogging them for not having it either. Everyone's hair care is different. All in all we had an excellent time! I really can't say enough about the place and our host, Brad! He was super nice and informative! His 2 dogs, Caine and Max, were a pleasure and love! The B&B is located so close to many museums, sites, and downtown shopping that we were able to walk to almost everything except the Battlefield. Will stay here again!
The house and our room were charming and very clean with each room very distinct and historical. We liked that we could check in early. Hosts were great in being accessable to us.
First of all, the house was beautifully decorated for the time period and amazingly decorated for the Holidays! Beautiful home. Our Lincoln Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable and also very quiet. We loved it so much we will be back. We lovef the atmosphere and Kane their goldendoodle made us feel like we were at home with our boy too! Brad's continental breakfast was delicious. Especially the scrambled eggs and french toast
Perfect location for a quick visit- easy location to find, great parking area for guests, and tremendous welcoming from host and his loyal canine buddy. We will be back for a longer stay!
My daughter and I stayed in the Lincoln suite for a night, it was our first time in Gettysburg. The home was absolutely beautiful, the host was very friendly, accommodating, made sure we had everything we needed and gave us great recommendations. We will definitely be back and recommend everything about this place:)
This is our second stay at the Olinger House and we loved it just as much as the first time. The charm and warth of the property is tremendous and we are already looking forward to our next stay there.
Adorable, Clean, friendly! We didn ’t want to leave! Brad, Gabe and their pup Kane were awesome. They are easy to talk to and gave great recommendations for walking or driving around town. The B n B is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The rooms were beautifully decorated and clean.
Very quaint and decorated nicely. Breakfast was just continental. Was difficult for older people with limited walking due to the stairs and very high bed. Bed was very uncomfortable with thin pillows and bath small.
This is an exceptional property with an exceptional host. Rooms are immaculately clean. Mattress unbelievably comfortable. And, an outdoor area that is peaceful, inviting and secluded from noise. The icing on the cake is Kane(sp?) the house dog. If you are traveling to Gettysburg, this is the place to stay.
We had a lovely stay at Olinger House, and it's a friendly B&B experience for the introvert who does not necessarily want to engage in small talk throughout their stay. We were given access codes and breakfast information (not a group affair) prior to check-in and were able to keep to ourselves. The Lincoln suite was comfortable and perfect for a weekend getaway. Location made walking an easy option for the majority of our excursions.
The review question about wine stumped me since a wine tour was not part of our one night stay nor would we have wanted it to. I couldn’t bypass the last question so put one star with N/A beside it. My intention was to leave 5 stars in every category. If this skews the rating that is too bad. We enjoyed our visit immensely and recommend this historic home to everyone. Everything was beautiful and the host was most cordial and accommodating towards us!
Property is so beautiful, they have beautiful flowers and a charming backyard area! It was very hot so we didn’t enjoy the outside as much as we wanted to, but we totally intend on returning soon in the fall to stay again! The inside is decorated so lovely, wonderful breakfast area in the morning! Our room was very charming and overall it was a delightful stay. I would highly recommend Olinger house to anyone coming to visit the area. It’s a short walk to shops and museums, short drive to the battlefield.
If we could leave more than five, perfect stars, we would. Everything about this stay completely, blew us away. The beauty of the home with its historical appointments, the welcoming gardens, the most gracious host we’ve ever met, fantastic breakfasts and how do they get the towels that fluffy? The home is centrally located and provided easy walking access to fantastic dining and cocktail opportunities as well as sightseeing and shopping in other parts of town. Bread suggestions for dining or spot on and he made us feel right at home. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. Our new favorite place to return to.
