Conveniently located within walking distance to the Monument, Main Street Square and across the street from "Art Alley," this is the ideal urban launch pad for 2-3 people. The bedroom features a queen-size, memory foam mattress, with room for one more on the sofa bed in the living room. With a full kitchen, including coffee maker, dishwasher, oven and microwave, it's easy to cook a full meal. The loft is located in a historic building, restored to LEED environmental standards, and with lots of cute reclaimed and upcycled materials. Free parking is available to our guests at a nearby parking garage.

Great downtown stay!

This property is so cute and walkable to so many things. It was also very clean, hot water was on point, everything you need in the kitchen, and overall a fantastic stay. The only downside was the light that comes in from the skylights in the morning, and the couch was too short/hard for my 13 year old.

Nice downtown place, secured entrance, quiet and peaceful. Close to restaurants and shops. Be sure to work with the owner on parking arrangements, otherwise the parking garage is several blocks away.

Adorable decorated and super clean loft apartment in perfect location to downtown. Easy walk to shops, restaurants, and bars. Would recommend a written out instruction sheet placed in apartment with laundry location, parking options, and check out instructions for easier access to guests. Parking in front is metered short term parking, and free parking is a long walk. Recommend the garage parking available by sending your license plate to host for registration as that’s the best option when driving!

Very clean place! Cute decor, new appliances. The location was great and surprisingly quiet considering being in the heart of downtown! Awesome communication with the owner. There are large, beautiful skylights in the living room and bedroom. Just be prepared to wake up early or bring a sleep mask The bathroom door is a cute barn door but because of the style there is about a one inch gap on either side, so be prepared for that. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely stay there again!

This VRBO was awesome! We really liked the location. We were able to walk to many restaurants and shops. It was super cute and clean! The skylights were awesome! Communication with the host was top notch! The only small negative is that the pillows were lumpy. It didn't imapct our sleep but we like to read in bed and it wasn't as comfortable as we are used to. No big deal but want to be honest. :)

From outdoor street festivals, to an open-air ice rink and splash park, to "Art Alley" where local street artists get free reign to explore their creativity, to the "Presidents" sculptures and local Native American art galore (don't miss Prairie Edge!), the location is ideal for travelers who want to explore on foot, right from their accommodations.

What makes this property unique

My family and I are so proud to own our historic building in downtown Rapid City. The "Swanders" building has had many lives — starting out as a grocery store, then a bakery and a department store before becoming an office building and lofts. My parents, an interior designer and engineer, have lovingly restored the lofts to their current glory, adding so many fun and unique details, including lots of local art and reclaimed materials, to give each loft its own charm. With six lofts total in the building, be sure to check in with me if you're looking to book a group of spaces for a big event!
