About this property

Eagle Ranch Railway Retreat

Stay in our restored historic red caboose turned tiny home for a truly one-of-a-kind getaway. Nestled on our family farm in Spencer, Indiana, the caboose sits near peaceful lakes and rolling pastures, offering the perfect mix of rustic charm and modern comfort. Step outside to fish, swim, canoe, or kayak, then gather at the firepit (wood provided) or enjoy a picnic under the stars.

What makes Eagle Ranch extra special are the animals you’ll meet along the way—Highland Cattle, Wagyu Cattle, goats, chickens, Muscovy ducks, donkeys, even Longhorn Cattle! While animal areas are guided only with a ranch member, you’ll still enjoy their presence as part of the authentic farm atmosphere.

Inside the caboose, unwind after your adventures with board games, a small library, or streaming your favorite shows. Whether you’re here for a romantic retreat or simply to unplug and recharge, our caboose glamping stay blends history, nature, and farm life into one unforgettable experience.

Amazing Experience

My wife and I chose this place because we wanted a new experience. The idea of turning a caboose into a tiny home was spot on. The area on the lake on which the caboose sits is picture perfect. It has everything you need. The host is attentive to your needs and responds very quickly to any questions. There is a lot of wildlife to see and tons of animals on the property who are cared for by an amazing staff. You will enjoy this property and will come back again.

We wish we had more time to explore! With only having a one night stay and coming in later in the evening, we missed out on some fun possibilities. Waking up the next morning to the beautiful lake, we were wishing for our fishing poles! We would have loved to have had time for a campfire and a dinner on the pier. I would have loved the opportunity to sit in the watch chairs and read one of the many books provided. We did have a chance to enjoy the board games, as well as the picnic table on the pier for a Sunday sermon via the wonderful wi-fi service. The caboose was very clean and had we had time to cook, the kitchen looked very well stocked. The quiet solitude of the caboose was perfect after a hectic couple of days!
