Apt is in touristy area, so lots within walking distance--also lots of homeless panhandlers. It was clean. Have to play with the fuse box & wait 40 min for hot water. Curtains are not blackout & don't cover 6 in of window, so light comes in all night. Once you enter the building, you take a rickety elevator to 4th floor. It's the kind where you pull open the door & step in, & there is nothing between you & the elevator shaft--watch fingers! You have to push door open to get out. There is no light in the hall where the apt is. If you don't have a flashlight, you'll not find the keyhole. It was pitch black when we got there--a little nerve wracking after the elevator ride.... The bad part is that the customer service was so, so disappointing. There were unseasonably high winds on the island we were coming from. Our airplane circled over the airport while we were standing at the gate waiting to board, then it flew back to Athens without landing bc the winds were too high for it to land safely. The apt refused to give us a refund for 1 night bc we didn't call within the stated 24 hours, but there was no way we could have done that. I understand having a policy in place for standard use, but these were extraordinary circumstances entirely out of our control. Even the airline gave us a hotel room & food vouchers. There are other as good and as reasonably priced places to stay in Athens. Stay somewhere else where they care about more than every Euro they can squeeze from you.
