About this property

Beautiful 5 Star Guest Cabin in the Mountains on Lake Cabins Road

Our beautiful guest cabin is an ideal home base for your Lake Cle Elum/Roslyn/Mountain getaway. You can hike, walk, snowshoe or cross country ski right out our backyard. Here, you are less than a block from the beach - the closest vacation rental to Speelyi beach on Lake Cle Elum at this price. This short distance offers you privacy, quiet and a break from the wind that often whips up in the late afternoons. If you’re looking for a little time with nature, there are some wonderful hikes/walks right out of our cabin, as well as dozens of incredible hikes a short drive away. Biking is also very popular along the many trails and scenic points (it’s short 5 miles to bike to Swiftwater Cellars Winery in Suncadia). The little town of Roslyn is home to shops and restaurants, and is a short 10 minute drive away. This area is a wonderful area to experience and enjoy.

Your guest house has 2 bedrooms, both with queen size beds, providing a spacious destination for a family or 2 couples. If you have a little one, we do have a twin sofa bed that we can offer to you for an additional $25/night. The bathroom features a 5' soaking tub/shower. The dining table seats 6, though you may spend most of your time at the wonderful center island where you will find 4 comfortable counter stools. This island was hand made of the most amazing piece of Methow Valley Fir, resting beneath Murano glass lamps. It’s a great place to enjoy cocktails or visit with the designated chef while they’re preparing appetizers or meals.

Set on the 2nd floor, overlooking Lake Cabins Road, just a few minutes walk to Lake Cle Elum and Speelyi beach (public beach access where you can launch your boat, or just set up chairs and enjoy the Eastern Washington sunshine. If you feel more adventurous, there are miles of walking trails through fields of wildflowers in the late spring/summer, or x-country skiing/snowshoeing and snowmobiling in the winter (right out your back yard - there is no need to drive anywhere to enjoy pure heaven!). You are also invited to just relax and sit on the deck, or cozy up in front of the fire and watch the snow fall (we call this great room the snow globe - if you are here during a snow storm you will understand why). A gas fireplace on your deck will be your evening retreat with a glass of wine or cocktail. In the summer, the lake is a beautiful hidden gem, with a wide open beach where you can take morning walks and feel as though you're the only one who knows about your lake, and then later, launch your boat/wave runners, and enjoy the day both on the sandy beach or just floating in pristine, clean and clear Lake Cle Elum. We have room here for your trailer too (snowmobile or boat). Just be sure to let us know so we have readied a clear space for you to easily come and go.

As your home base, our guest house has been thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. We've furnished your retreat with luxury amenities to make your stay so wonderful you’ll want to come back again. You will have a 55” Samsung smart TV with full cable, a Google Chromecast so you may cast movies and shows from your smart phone or lap top, supported by Hi Speed Wifi. A Bose Revolve Sound provides wonderful sound inside or out on your deck, and is connected directly to your mobile device or laptop via Bluetooth. (An “old school” blue ray DVR player with a selection of old movies). Your sofa was built for serious relaxing, with down filled cushions. Your fireplace will keep you cozy in the winter or on chilly mornings. Our cabin location in the trees stays cool 360 days/year, and offers incredible fresh air cross breezes with windows that open and are screened.

In the kitchen, you will find every tool and many ingredients you may need to cook simple or gourmet meals, or bake a batch of cookies. These are just a few:
-Keurig kcup coffee maker. We’ve provided both coffee and tea, as well as half&half
-Frother to turn your cup of coffee into a nummy cappucino treat
-Blender
-Toaster
-Mini-cuisinart food processor
-Sharp Henckel knives
-pots, pans, and anything you should need to make a home cooked meal
-Kitchen necessities - olive oil, vinegar, spices, ketchup, mustard and more

If instead you decide that full relaxation is what you're after, there is a range of great restaurants, a beautiful new distillary, local and historic pubs, new microbreweries, and the incredible Swiftwater winery, all that are just minutes away from this perfect spot. We have a list for you to consider and try. And, being local wine lovers, we would love to share a bottle or two with you - a selection is available to you at no charge.

In the bedrooms, you will find new, pillow top mattresses, luxury bedding and the plushest throw blankets practically guarantee you restful sleep.
And in the bath, the complete the retreat that starts with a 5’ soaking tub/shower, you will find toiletries and luxuriously soft and absorbent towels.

Custom wood and stone finishes, as well as thoughtful design details, create a welcoming mountain retreat.

Built in 2010, we've shared this cabin with close friends and family only, many who've asked why we don't offer it as a rental. Because we've enjoyed VRBO across the country, we're going to give it a try. We'd love for you to be our guest. Our Guest House sits back on our lot, adjacent to our main cabin, above the garage where we store our "toys." You will have total privacy, and, when we are here, you will be close enough to us that if you need anything, we're just short steps away.

We look forward to sharing our little piece of heaven with you.

*Covid notice - we pride ourselves in the highest standards of cleanliness, and have elevated our cleaning protocols to include cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing high touch surfaces and items guests use, including all bedding from duvet covers, blankets, pillow covers, hand towels and hot pads,

Absolutely perfect!
What an amazing property. Location, cleanliness, hospitality, beauty. Can’t be beat. We had a family reunion and needed extra space for my in-laws and their friends, they adored this place! The gift basket and amazing wine was an incredible touch. We know the neighborhood and location well and it can’t be beat no matter the season. Access to Speeyli beach (it’ll take you less than a minute to walk there), suncadia trails, snowmobile / hiking trails, and Roslyn. Can’t beat waking up to the sunshine and pines in Ronald! You won’t regret staying here. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with our family.

Exceptional!
The cabin is the perfect location and has all the essentials needed, plus some. We felt welcome as soon as we arrived with a lovely welcome card and bottle of wine. Our long weekend getaway was with our boys, 6 & 9 and they loved it. The cabin was cozy, clean and comfortable. Quick walk to the lake to play in the snow. Dawn made this booking easy and had great communication around our stay. We didn’t want to leave. We’ll be back!

Fantastic Cabin, Outstanding host
We loved our stay and Dawn was an outstanding host. The cabin is beautifully appointed, lovingly maintained, and a very short walk (5 minutes) to Cle Elum Lake. The cabin is stocked with all the essentials, and Dawn provides great suggestions for local shopping, dining, hiking, and other outdoor experiences. Crow Creek Fly Fishing provided a wonderful intro to fly fishing for my husband and teen daughter.

We have been coming to the Roslyn area since high school, and knew our kids needed to spend time here too, so we built this happy place 5 years after purchasing the property in 1999. Since Covid, and working from home became an option, we've moved here full time. Our grown up "kids" still come to visit often, now with their fiancee's and their puppies. We love to spend time as a family, as well as with the many friends we've made here in our wonderful mountain area (people who value the things we do - the quiet, the clean fresh air, the escape from the hustle of the city). We love to ski (downhill and cross country), hike, boat on the lake, enjoy the outdoors and relax in our cabin, which we designed and built to feel like the cabin home we've always wanted. We spend our time now between Ronald WA and Whitefish Montana.

Why they chose this property

We built our cabin in 2004 after having spent summer and winter weekends in Ronald/Cle Elum with a dear family friend. We built both our main cabin and our guest lodge only a couple of years apart, and have enjoyed years here as our kids grew. They are grown up now, our son 28 and our daughter recently graduated from WSU. Though we planned to have frequent guests, we've rarely used the "Guest House" and feel it's too amazing to not share it with fellow VRBO travelers.

What makes this property unique

While we are often here and available to you for anything you might need (a sled, snowshoes, more propane for your outdoor firepit, or just a cup of milk), we are also removed enough to provide you with 100% privacy. We appreciate that a vacation, even just a long weekend getaway, means different things to different people, and we are available to you for whatever you need, even if that means you want to be left alone. We are grateful to have the opportunity to meet wonderful people and share our happy place with them.
