Perfect location to use as home base for exploring the whitebird/riggins area and beyond. Great kitchen and shower. Very comfortable for the late evenings. The stream through the ranch was so relaxing to listen to and plenty of wildlife (birds, deer) were spotted from the deck as well. Great communication from the owners was appreciated also!

The cabin offered much more then we expected. The inside was beautiful. The scenery was breathtaking
We were extremely happy. The cabin was beautiful. The kitchen was amazing. We picked blackberries and made fresh cobbler(yummy). The grounds are breathtaking. There is a little orchard right outside the door where the deer come to visit every morning and evening. the owners where easy to get ahold of and quick to answer any questions we had. We definitely want to stay here again.

Thank you for choosing to stay at our ranch. You're welcome back anytime. We hope to have more of the ranch renovated in the coming year. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
Suggest a better picture for renting on VRBO. There are better angles of house on the outside. Mapquest took us about 7 miles past the house but we figured it out. Beautiful kitchen. Suggest another bathroom. Would stay again. Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback. The lodge across the driveway is currently under renovation and will be 2700 sf with two full baths with large walk-in showers. The lodge will become the primary rental with an expected completion in early 2022.
We booked this property last minute after our original plans fell through due to wildfires. We could not have been happier, and are so thankful that we did! This property is everything we love, private, remote, has all the amenities as far as a nice kitchen and comfortable beds. We loved hiking in the nearby Nez Perce national wilderness, and on the property itself! My husband enjoyed trout fishing in the beautiful river running through the property. My daughter and I picked blackberries and apples from the property and made a delicious dessert while we were there. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your piece of paradise!
This cabin was absolutely perfect for our Idaho elk hunting trip. The rustic style of the cabin and the amazing kitchen was a bonus! I would highly recommend this for a hunting trip or just a place to stay and explore the Salmon river region. Scott wall was incredibly gracious and communicative. I only have good things to say about the location and the cabin.
What a great find! This remote property was a great place to stay, prior to our rafting excursion in Riggins. Beautiful, well appointed kitchen and a great wrap around deck.
What a beautiful property! This was the perfect location to reset and get away from reality. The forest is literally in the backyard. The week we were there was not near enough to explore all the beauty of the area. The cabin was great and the owners are very nice. We had everything we needed for our stay. The sound of the creek running thru the property was very relaxing. We were able to easily fish on the property thru different access points not hard to find. Saw lots of deer in the orchard. Would definitely love to come back someday! Thanks for a great stay.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Screaming Eagle Ranch. The cabin was large and had beds for the whole family and all the modern conveniences. The setting was very nice in a little canyon right next to a rushing stream. Lots of fun things to do in the area too like white water rafting and hiking.
This property was amazing! So far away from everything, it was so nice to disconnect. Close enough still to make it to Riggins for a little rafting and fishing. Slate Creek itself was difficult to access but falling asleep to the sounds of water and deer stealing pears was wonderful. The temp outside was 110 F, so we Disney explore too much, but I don’t blame the hosts for that! I can’t wait for them to finish the second building. I’ll be back.
Had a relaxing time with the family. The views are amazing. It was fun to see deer each day wondering around. Wish we would have had a longer stay to enjoy more of the area and property. Would be a great place for a hunting trip. Will for sure be planning another visit.
Scott, Jeff, and their wives have done a great job of restoring a cabin into a house! Incredible craftsmanship along with an ideal location in between Grangeville and Riggins make this a special spot for family or friends!
Such a gorgeous location, very private and picturesque! Our family had a wonderful time!

Great secluded getaway.
A very comfortable rustic cabin in a secluded setting with a gourmet kitchen! Ideal location to explore the beauty of Central Idaho. Owners were very responsive with the one small Plumbing Leak that we experienced. Thank you Scott and Jeff.

Very nice and secluded.
Very nice and secluded. Kitchen especially nice, creek in front is charming. Premises were enchanting. However, directions to the property could have been better described and more informative. The property is in the Slate Creek area, which is so named on Highway 95, and the specific road the property is on is road 354, which also has a sign so indicating, so those would have been a good things to know. Otherwise, very, very nice. Could hardly have been nicer.

About the host
Hosted by Jeff and Scott Wall
We are twin brothers who purchased the ranch as a place for us to bring our families to get away and relax. We are avid hunters and fisherman and the ranch is surrounded by an abundance of wildlife and walking/hiking trails.
Why they chose this property
Slate Creek is one of the few areas where residents see sunlight in the winter months. Very rare and unique for canyon type properties. Our ranch sits at about the 2200' elevation which allows for year round enjoyment.
What makes this property unique
Slate Creek runs through the lower 80 acres of the ranch (approximately .5 miles) and the property is surrounded by National Forest and BLM land.
