Staying cool in Rome

Enrico’s apartment was a cool oasis from the heat in Rome. Communication was excellent and Enrico was very friendly and easy to deal with. The apartment is located within easy reach to all the main tourist spots as the metro station is close by (and the best way to get around town). Looking forward to visiting again, but maybe when it’s a little cooler 😆

Wohnung in Casal Bertone, Rom

Unser Gastgeber Enrico war grandios - er hat uns im Vorhinein mit allen wichtigen Infos und Tipps versorgt und war auch bei Rückfragen immer sofort erreichbar und sehr freundlich. Die Wohnung liegt nahe am Autobahnzubringer (man muss sich also nicht mit dem Auto durch Roms Innenstadt kämpfen) und ist gut zu finden. Parkplätze sind rar - unser Auto haben wir in einer nahegelegenen, nicht ganz günstigen Garage untergebracht. Insgesamt liegt die Wohnung in einem Viertel mit vielen recht hohen Wohnhäusern. Das Haus selbst ist sehr gepflegt, hat einen Innenhof mit Pflanzkübeln (kein Garten) - die Umgebung ist allerdings ziemlich dreckig - überquellende Mülltonnen, Hundekot, Müll auf den Straßen. Da im Zentrum Roms die Straßen viel sauberer sind, haben wir uns davon nicht die Laune verderben lassen. Die Wohnung selbst ist sehr sauber und hat eine leistungsfähige Klimaanlage und Rollladen, die wir bei unserem sehr heißen Aufenthalt sehr zu schätzen wussten. Das Doppel- und Einzelbett im Schlafzimmer war bequem, das Schlafsofa leider sehr durchgelegen - wir haben die Matratze einfach auf den Boden gelegt, das ging dann gut. Um in die Innenstadt zu gelangen haben wir immer etwa eine Stunde gebraucht, denn es ist erst ein kleiner Fußmarsch zur Bushaltestelle nötig, dann die Busfahrt, das Umsteigen in die Metro und anschließend die 6 Stationen von Tiburtina bis zum Kolosseum. Mal schnell in die City und zurück ist also nicht wirklich möglich - aber war für uns auch nicht nötig.

Zuhause in Rom

Wir sind als fünfköpfige Familie (2 Erw, 3 Kinder im Alter von 7-12) nach Rom gereist. Der persönliche Kontakt mit Enrico war schon vor der Reise unkompliziert. Enrico konnte uns bei allen Fragen weiterhelfen und es war ihm wichtig, dass wir uns wohlfühlen und es uns an Nichts fehlte ( Infos zu Parkgarage, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Eis,...). Die Verbindungen des öffentlichen Nahverkehrs zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten sind auch mit Kindern machbar, wenn man auch einmal 10 min zu Fuß unterwegs sein kann oder sich in die römischen Busse traut. Für uns kein Problem. Die Wohnung selbst ist mit allem Notwendigen ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dort übernachten! Enrico ist der perfekte Gastgeber!

The house is located in a typical Roman neighborhood, near the University La Sapienza and the Papal Basilica of San Lorenzo fuori le mura (one of the seven pilgrimage churches in Rome).

In the evening if you want to stay near the house there are excellent pizzerias, wine bars, cinemas to take a break and enjoy the nightlife in the typical neighborhoods of San Lorenzo and Pigneto, culturally and artistically alive.


Just 5 metro stops from the Colosseum, well connected to airports and high-speed trains.
