Clean, recently renovated, great location.
This property exceeded our expectations. Very clean and comfortable. Our group of 3 couples rented the 3 rooms, great to have a private bath with each room

Family trip w teens
The advantages: We loved the location in "Old Colorado Springs". Walking distance to ice cream & restaurants was perfect. I felt comfortable letting my older teens walk to shop, get ice cream or eat. There is a popular, very nice breakfast place one house over. Felt safe at all times. Street parking was ALWAYS available (that was my only worry when booking that there wasn't a driveway or garage and it was never a problem). Literally parked in front of front door all week. The property was immaculate. Everything is brand new. Granite countertops. New showers/cabinets. New washer/dryer. Extremely clean upon arrival. We loved that every bedroom had their own shower/bathroom which meant no taking turns/lining up for showers. The balconies were nice too. Room 1 looks over the main street and is a bit bigger than the other balconies. Room 2 is on the side and 3 looks at mountains. We loved that everyone had a key to the front door and to their own room and could come & go independently, nice for older teens. Clara was quick to respond to every question and was very accommodating. There was a grocery store a mile away. Was just 10 min from Garden of the Gods and close to most of the major sites. The main street was not overly noisy and seemed like everything shut down by 10-11pm. Location was awesome. The only thing missing was a place to sit and eat and/or central hanging out area. The hallway shared by the 3 rooms has the main kitchenette but no table or eating area. If you want to sit and eat you can sit on your own balcony. If you want to gather to eat, hang out or play cards you could probably fit 6 balcony chairs on room #1's balcony. (Not sure if Clara would allow so better to check). We didn't have a problem w it because we ate lunch/dinner out a lot. Just breakfast/snacks at the property. Also, FYI kitchen-wise buy/bring what you need. There are no "basics" like salt/pepper, coffee creamer or anything. Overall great rental. Would return for sure.

Birthday Celebration was perfect!
Clean, comfy, spacious, quiet rental within easy walking distance to good food, shopping and entertainment but far enough away that it was quiet for sleeping and peaceful for morning breakfasts on the patio. Easy access to freeways and local sightseeing and tours. Communication with property manager was easy and response time was always prompt. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

I grew up and went to college in North Dakota. Later I married and moved to Montana where I lived for 24 years where I raised three children. I have always loved the mountains and after my children were grown, I moved here to beautiful Colorado to start an herb and tea company, here in Old Colorado City. Because I prefer moderate weather with the 4 seasons, this area is very attractive. Being family oriented makes running a vacation rental the perfect fit and just adds layers of new friends to a life full of wonderful people. Enjoy your stay and be sure to let me know any way I can make your trip better. Share your experience here with your friends and do come back- Beginning in June of 2013, you will also have access to an on-grounds Tea Shop for enjoying a cup of tea on our store patio or to purchase items to take back home. Enjoy the private front patio for light meal, relaxing, or people watching!

Why they chose this property

Of all the areas in Colorado I have chosen, Old Colorado City where I decided to make my retirement. The people are friendly, and living here in this beautiful area, is like living on vacation all the time. So many pass through here and having a local business has made it possible for me to revisit some of the same people coming through every summer. It is a delightful mix of all walks of life and once experienced, something to be appreciated and certainly remembered.

What makes this property unique

I love living on this busy small town street where activities and excitement of all there is to do, happens right out my front door. I can walk to work, walk to dine, walk to walk, enjoying friends and visitors any day of the week. I can pack a lunch and walk through Garden of the Gods Park- just another benefit of living here. Everyone owns a dog, and that says a lot for the just type of people who walk the neighborhoods here, friendly and happy- Being just a few miles to either downtown or Manitou Springs is an ideal setting for a vacation or living in Colorado Springs. Just out the door you can visit Organic Herb & Tea Co, voted "Best of Colorado Springs" where you can purchase from 100's of teas from all around the world
