This one bedroom/one bathroom cottage is a great place for a family getaway. Relax under our spacious outdoor living area, while enjoying the beautiful view of the lake by day or spectacular stars at night. We have two kayaks and a paddle board available for our guests. This property offers privacy and a great way to get away from it all. Only two hours from the DFW area, right on beautiful Possum Kingdom lake. We allow pets ($50 pet fee) . With two sleeper sofas, this house sleeps 6. We have a fully equiped kitchen, kitchen table with seating for six and island with barstools. The covered patio has a dining table and chairs, as well as, an outdoor kitchen(grill/bar/sink/fridge) for enjoying your lakeside view your entire stay!

Check-out instructions

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
If additional linens have been used from inside the sofa bed storage compartments, please pile by the washer in the front room. Do not use blankets or comforters without sheets.
Blankets and comforters should be folded and stored back in the compartment unless they need laundered. Please keep in mind that we do not have time to wash every blanket in the house for each stay.
Please wash and put away any dishes used before leaving.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Please do not venture on to the neighbors property, boat ramp, or docks.
Please do not enter the hot tub with dirt and grass on your feet. If the hot tub is empty (June-Sept) do not attempt to fill and use.
Please make sure all trash is picked up from yard, patio and removed from the house upon departure.

We were looking for a quaint place to spend our wedding anniversary and were very pleased with this setup. The area was incredibly quiet when we were there, we fished and caught a ton of fish with minnows from the bait shop right up the road. Convenient restaurants within 10-15 minutes and more options in Graham. Very scenic, we spent most of our time on the patio or on the dock just enjoying the peace and quiet. We’d go back!

House is super cute but it is small. There is only one bed, the rest of us slept on foldout couches. Our dog loved being able to run right in and play in the water. Nice quiet weekend.

Very cute and intimate house with an amazing view!! The dock was perfect for our boat (and our proposal!!). The dock lights and half of the board walk lights did not work, but was otherwise perfect! Will definitely be coming back!

The house was exactly how it was described. it was nice to have the water so close and the use of the dock. The launch ramp was also nearby. The drive down to the house was a little steep with our pontoon boat.

Nice Lakehouse

This cozy house by the lake water along with it's own dock, were clean and pleasant as our previous visit was. A wonderful place to let our two wonderful dogs run, swim and play outside. The house is snug yet modern household with only internet being highly limited and then quickly going out altogether not long after our arrival, combined with the only bedroom A/C doing the same, standing in the way of a letter perfect, stay.

I made big mistake, contrary to the photos, there were no pillows or blankets in the living room. And Internet Wi-Fi, of course, even the phone did not work

Really nice quiet place

The house is really nice and centrally located. You can choose to stay on the lake and not see too much else, or you can head in to town for meals and other things. The area of the lake isn't really active, so there are no issues with boats/jet skis constantly rushing by. They do have Wi-Fi, but it's not the best. I could see some seeing this as a bad thing, but I have stayed at several locations where there was no Wi-Fi at all! I see the available access as a good thing. We'd definately stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay and loved the location. We were disappointed that we were not told that the dock was roped off and unacceptable. Kitchen sink was moldy and we would not use it without putting a container in it to wash anything. Kitchen needs pantry room to allow visitors room for their supplies. Air conditioning worked great. It was hot while we were there but while inside it was very comfortable. Very quiet location . Bathroom was darling... did not use washer and dryer but They looked nice. Cleaning crew needs to work a little longer . A little Dog hair was left on rugs but not a lot. We enjoyed our stay.

Subpar Stay

This lake house’s location was great and the property had nice amenities, but we encountered some issues that made our stay a sub-par experience. The lake house didn’t appear to have been thoroughly cleaned upon our arrival and had noticeable holes & cracks in the walls for insects to enter through. There were wrappers, crumbs, dust bunnies, and bugs (dead & alive) beneath both couches and dusty surfaces in the kitchen. We vacuumed the night we arrived. We also came across a large, live hornet/wasp hiding on the light in the entryway. Our first night, we encountered an issue with the toilet also. Two guests used it (both number 1) – the second noticed it wasn’t flushing properly. After attempting to plunge it, water began leaking from the base. We immediately shut off its water supply to stop the leaking. Once the leaking stopped, we turned the water supply back on and did not use the toilet again. In the morning, we noticed the toilet had drained and was back at a normal level but still didn’t flush properly. We immediately notified the host. She responded: “I have confirmed with my housekeeper that the toilet was working and flushing when she cleaned around noon yesterday. I am sure a clogged toilet is not fun when on vacation but a clogged toilet is not a broken or leaking toilet. If you cannot get it unclogged, you will be responsible for the cost of a plumber.” We then called her. She stated it would be difficult to get a plumber to come to the lake house on the weekend and said if a plumber did come and diagnose a clog, we were responsible for the bill. We explained that we didn’t think it was a clog because the toilet was leaking, but the host was insistent. The situation was not resolved after the phone call and so we decided to use the Walmart and gas station toilets for the rest of our stay. Despite the issues we encountered, we still had an enjoyable time. Also, the host allowed us to use her paddleboards and kayaks at the end of the dock. Four days after our stay, the host apologized and informed us that there was a toilet issue and it wasn’t a clog. She offered us a free night stay. We appreciate the host following up with us; however, the free night stay offered to us is not appealing given the uncleanliness of the property upon our arrival and the mishandling of the toilet situation during our stay.

We are the Kleiber family and we have enjoyed this house on the lake for nearly 20 years. It's a great get away from the busy life we live in the DFW area. Now that our kids are a little older, we have very few weekends to spend at the lake, which is why we have made it available for other families and friends to enjoy. While being a vacation rental host has its challenges, we have learned a lot over the years and enjoy proving a great lake experience for our guests!

Why they chose this property

This property is special because it is totally non-commercial and remote. There are neighbors on each side of the property but are both family oriented groups of people. It's in a beautiful area of PK with not too much boat traffic speeding by - very relaxing!!
