About the host
Hosted by David Houston

Hi, I'm David. I'm a small business owner, husband and father to 3 sons. I love to travel and host. When I'm not in Wisconsin I'm spending time in Eagle Harbor, Michigan at our family cabin. I love helping others to discover the natural wonders of the Keweenaw so please feel free to ask any questions about the area and I'd be happy to assist.
Why they chose this property
My family has been spending summers in Eagle Harbor all the way back to the 1850s. They built the original store (still visible only 3 buildings from the cabin) as well as the original Rice Hotel (just next door). Both are now private homes. My love for the Keweenaw in general, and Eagle Harbor specifically, runs deep. I consider it my true home.
What makes this property unique
Harbor Haven was purchased from my Aunt in 2020 so that my sister and I would each eventually have a place in Eagle Harbor to retire at. We jointly own Harbor Haven as well as another cabin that we do not rent, only a few houses away from Harbor Haven. We take great pride in Harbor Haven, not only because we want our guests to feel comfortable and enjoy all that the area has to offer, but because we view our ownership of the property as a lifetime gift to the generations of our family to come.
