Beautiful views

This was our second time starting at the keystone! The views from the yard are so stunning! We had a bit of trouble getting the little gas stove lit, but I sent a message asking for help and the property manager had someone stop by and help right away! Everything is clean and cute.

Can't beat this location for it's combined inland lakefront and direct watercourse to lake Superior. Bonus, an eagle visited in one of the trees on the property. Located on the enda dead end street

Awesome Lakefront Cottage

Extremely private and quiet within feet of Lac La Belle. Sunset/sunrise views of the lake were amazing! Internet was excellent. Had full size fridge and washer/dryer. No complaints. Was greeted by a Bald Eagle flying 30 feet over my head on arrival. A perfect place to get away from it all in the U.P.

Awesome views

This was an extremely relaxing stay. The location is everything. House was well equipped, and was rustic, with well worn furnishings. No cell service could be a problem in an emergency, but we didn't miss the TV. Perfect size for 3 adults but wouldn't want many more sharing the 1 bathroom.

Very Private Retreat for a Relaxing Getaway....

The cabin is secluded at the end of the road with the lake shore surrounding the edges of a very comfortable yard. Campfires right outside your door and private swimming steps away. The inside of the cottage has been refreshingly painted white with open cozy atmosphere. Hosted a large family group very well. We were made very comfortable by Captain Brian's hospitality. The family committed they would definitely like to come back. It was a pleasant drive to Copper Harbor through the most scenic part of the trip.

winter stay on lac la belle

the place was great, very close to mt. bohemia, and brian was a helpful landlord. despite the 0deg temps, the fireplace and heater kept us cozy after skiing all day. the lake was frozen over, but i'm sure it's incredibly beautiful in the summer. there was a crazy amount of snow up there when we visited, and the roads were slick but still well plowed. washer/dryer were helpful for drying soggy winter clothes, etc. i'd definitely go back!

Peaceful Getaway

Our stay at the Keystone Cottage was exactly what our family needed. The property is so peaceful! I couldn’t get over how quiet it was. The only sounds came from nature and the occasional boat passing by. We had a spectacular view of the blue moon during our stay. It lit up the sky so brightly! The lake looked like ice. We were in the area for Trails Fest 2023. The property is a short 20-25 minute drive into Copper Harbor. Brian was very attentive and a great host. If you’re looking to relax and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life, add this property to your list for consideration.

4th of July Getaway

This cottage completely exceeded our expectations. You can see the water from every single window in the house, which is surrounded by the lake on three sides of the property. The views are absolutely serene. The seawall emphasizes the impression that you are right at the water's edge. The water depth was deep enough for a boat near the dock, but shallow enough everywhere else along the edge to make stepping into a kayak easy. We especially enjoyed the adirondack chairs provided by the lakeside campfire ring. The kitchen enabled us to prepare several meals with ease and the onsite laundry was also very convenient. We would recommend to family and friends traveling to the Keweenaw.

Best. Vacation. Ever.

We loved the Cottage. It was the perfect fit for our family of four. It was perfectly clean and well stocked. We made frequent use of the washer/dryer. It was a life saver. Our sons (14 and 11) had a great time fishing and kayaking right outside our door. We had a great time exploring the Keweenaw Peninsula. There was plenty to do. We hiked to Montreal Falls and Bare Bluffs and found the trail heads to be somewhat close to the cottage. Bete Grise Beach was also very close and it was spectacular. We spent a lot of time hiking and exploring, but found we were also very content to hang out at the cottage. Thank you, Brian, for the use of your cottage. And another huge thank you for having NO TV or WiFi. We needed the escape!

Nice..but

Our overall stay at the cottage was enjoyable due to its location and the cottage was clean with the exception that the bed linens were not changed, the pillows smelled like someone’s sweat (gross) and we ended up sleeping on towels which thankfully were clean. The cottage description stated that it had a fireplace.( it was propane gas) well it didn’t work, it would have been nice for the ambiance since it snowed that weekend. We also paid the higher rate for November so and we totally expected firewood to be provided for the outdoor fire pit ...it was not

About the host

Host profile image
My personality profile says I'm an Eagle. I'm an entrepreneur, dad of many, grandfather, author of the book, "How to Raise a Happy Family " and charter boat captain. I love to fish and love to see others have a good time fishing. Winters are spent snowboarding with kids and cross-country skiing. My wife and I have now retired from the printing business and are turning into snowbirds (leaving for the winter.).

Why they chose this property

My family and my wife’s family has had property on Sand Point Road nearly all our lives, so we spent ALL our growing up summers here. I had my sights on this property long before it came up for sale in 2013 in order to base my charter business from here. It’s one of the nicest properties on beautiful Lac La Belle with deep water close to shore.

What makes this property unique

The perfect place to unwind: No TV. A grand view of the lake where you see wildlife: eagles, deer, occasional bear, sparkling water, boats and BOTH the sunrise and sunset. The full moon is spectacular.
