About this property

Quiet holiday home 10 kilometer from the Atlantic

The farm consists of a sloping area of 2.5 hectares at 1km distance from the center of Cercal do Alentejo. There are fruit trees, olive trees, cork oaks and 2 authentic Alentejo farmhouses. The houses are adapted to the comfort of today. One is inhabited by us and the other is for rent to people who like the tranquility of nature, but don't want to be too far from civilization.
The home is detached and comprises a living room, bathroom, 2 bedrooms and 2 terraces. It is modern and suitable for 4 people. The house is rented all inclusive (gas, water, electricity, wood for the stove and bed, bath and kitchen towels/linen).
The immediate surroundings of the quinta, consists of comparable parcels, mostly inhabited by genuine Portuguese farmers. Our quinta is a small two hours drive from Lisbon and Faro.
The house is located 10 km from the Atlantic coast witch is still very quiet.

Very nice place to stay

We spent there 3 nights in the winter time and it was amazing. Very friendly dogs, my kids spent time with sheep's, rabbits, chickens and guinea pigs. All the time was busy:)) A bit cold and wet inside the house in the winter time, but overall everything was amazing. Amazing gardens with oranges! Very friendly host, also we had earlier check in and welcome presents.

Thoroughly recommended

Our second stay at Quinta Boavista and it did not disappoint. We never usually go back to somewhere that we have been to before but made an exception here. We enjoyed our visit as much this time if not more than before. We find Quinta Boavista perfect for a relaxing holiday. There are plenty of beaches and places to visit in the nearby vicinity. Sabine, Dries and family are very welcoming and accommodating. Easy to visit from both Faro and Lisbon. There are plenty of restaurants to try in Cercal, Vila Nova de Milfontes, Porto Cove and Sines. We have been back home nearly a fortnight now and can honestly say we miss Quinta Boavista and the Alentejo very much. I can see a third visit will be happening.

Quinta Boavista cottage, lovely!

Hens with quiet cooing calls were an unexpected discovery, wish we'd recorded their soothing voices. Don't worry, there are NO roosters to disturb your sleep! We swung open the shutters - after we'd slept 12 full hours - sunlight streamed in and we saw sheep just beyond the cottage fence. You really feel in a different place and it's wonderful. Though daytime temperatures were really warm in mid-September, we felt a little cool inside in the late evening as we had only summer clothes (and our apartment at home is overly warm). Our hosts provided pine cones and cork wood for the heater and we kept cozy. Didn't need the heater after that as we got used to cooler evenings. It is just a few minutes' drive to a good butcher/talho and groceries. Fruit and veg at the supermarket Littoral in Cercal were past their prime, though their bread and buns were good, but there is an alternative store near the butcher. It is tiny and crammed full but has fresher produce. Park at the downtown cemetery and walk to small shops just steps away. Sabine and her family were friendly and warm people, great hosts, but you also have complete privacy plus one sunny area and one shady area to yourself. Watch the birds eating figs or pick a few apples and just relax. We could easily come back for another visit as we made it our base for touring the area by car and really enjoyed our week here. Thank you!

Para quem procura tranquilidade, sossego, contacto com a natureza, animais e muita paz, é o lugar ideal!A cerca de 20 minutos das praias mais bonitas da costa vicentina - a cereja no topo do bolo da estadia...Os anfitriões são super amáveis e sempre disponíveis.O Cercal é pertinho, dá para ir a pé, 15 minutos a caminhar, ou de carro em cerca de 2-3 minutos, onde temos tudo o que precisamos, desde supermercados, restaurantes, cafés, pastelarias, farmácia, talho, mercado....O reset ideal que precisava! Adorei e espero regressar! 5*

Gemütliches Ferienhaus bei tollen Vermietern

Trotz viel Regen (März 2025) war unser Aufenthalt bei Sabine und Dries wunderschön! Das Ferienhaus ist sehr nett und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, der Garten und die Anbauflächen sehr schön und die Umgebung des Alentejo einfach nur ein Traum. Wir waren trotz Regen sehr viel unterwegs, sind meistens auf dem Fischerweg gewandert und haben die umliegenden kleinen Ortschaften besucht (besonders empfehlenswert: Porto Covo, Milfontes). Sabine und Dries sind sehr herzlich und gastfreundlich, und wir werden die beiden inklusive aller Tiere mit Sicherheit bald wieder besuchen. Absolute 5-Sterne-Empfehlung!

Idyllisch und gemütlich

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt bei Dries und Sabine sehr genossen. Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Auch bei schlechtem Wetter haben wir uns in dem offenen Wohn-Essbereich sehr wohl gefühlt. Unsere Gastgeber haben sich sehr gut und freundlich um uns gekümmert. Das Haus liegt abgeschieden und ist mit dem Auto über einen Feldweg erreichbar. Umgeben ist man von einem schönen Garten mit vielen Tieren, wie Schafen, Hühnern, Katzen, Kaninchen und Hunden. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Die Gastgeber haben uns herzlich empfangen. Das Haus und die Umgebung ist sehr gepflegt und sauber. Die Küche ist gut eingerichtet und im nahen Ort sind mehrere Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Die Strände in der Umgebung sind sauber und mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen. Wir empfehlen dieses Angebot für Familienferien.

Die absolute Erholung

Das Ferienhaus entsprach der Beschreibung. Besonders lobenswert ist die absolute Ruhe, die sehr gute Betreuung durch die Gastgeber und der traumhafte Sternenhimmel. Cercal bietet ausreichende Versorgungsmöglichkeiten. Traumhafte Strände sind nach 15 - 20 Minuten Anfahrt zu erreichen. Wir kommen gern wieder.

Oásis no litoral alentejano

Anfitriões muito simpáticos, disponíveis e discretos, um sítio lindo, tranquilo e bem cuidado, a proporcionar uma estadia excelente, que termina com muita vontade de voltar. Wunderschöner Frühling

Die Vermieter Sabine und Dries sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit, das Haus ist richtig zum Entspannen und Wohlfühlen und der Garten mit Hühnern, Schafen und Orangenbäumen ein Traum. Es war richtig schön, morgens vor dem Haus in der warmen Frühlingssonne zu sitzen oder abends nach einem Ausflug in das gemütliche Haus zurück zu kommen. Der Februar ist eine ideale Zeit, wenn man sich das Alentejo ansehen will. Ein wunderschöner Urlaub !

Heaven is a place in Cercal do Alentejo

If you love nature, animals and quiet, Quinta da Boavista is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy life at its best. Sabine is a very nice host and her proposal is very good value for money. I recommend it!

Calme absolu !

Nous avons passé 10 jours très paisibles à Cercal. La propriété un peu à l'écart permet de s'y reposer pleinement. La maison est très propre et fraîche l'été. La localisation permet de rayonner facilement sur la région et de découvrir els différentes plages et villages à proximité. Notre fille a aimé la présence des animaux, moutons, chèvres et chiens. Les propriétaires sont très arrangeants.

The Perfect Escape

We loved our stay here. The location was ideal and the accommodations were wonderful. Sabine and her husband were welcoming hosts but left us to enjoy a quiet, relaxing respite on our Algarve vacation. Nice touches included a delicious bottle of welcoming wine and some farm fresh eggs. The rooms and bathroom were all well appointed and the beds were very confortable. Cercal is a great little town with some excellent cafes.. This was the perfect home base for discovering Porto Covo and points south. Highly recommend it. Thank you Sabine!
