Our extended family loved this Fish Haven property! With 30 family members staying, it never felt crowded. We had plenty of storage and comfortable gathering spaces. Our 10 year old granddaughter didn’t want to leave.
Nice setup to accommodate gatherings of any size. We liked that there were areas to gather as a large group, as well as areas for smaller groupings. Although we didn't need it, it was great to see the fenced yard for young kids, right next to a patio where moms and dads could visit while keeping an eye out on young ones.
This house has such an amazing lay out for big groups! There is so many beautiful gathering places and also so many spaces for privacy. The property was peaceful with shade and had plenty of room for games indoor and out!! Even though it was older it was in good repair and had a beautiful feel about it! My family wants to make this a permanent tradition! Thanks so much for the wonderful stay!!
We enjoyed our stay in Fish Haven this summer! It is located on a beautiful piece of property and has lots of space and bedrooms. Great location and a very peaceful area! The only thing that is tricky about the house is that the kitchen is also the main hallway connecting both sides of the house so it gets a little crowded during meal times, and the yard is little more slanted than the pictures show. But overall a great stay and lots of happy memories made:)
There were some issues with the home that came up, but mostly were unforeseeable. They gave quick support to alleviate the problems. I hope they put some money into a better septic system. We did not have problems with it but we keep our water usage down to prevent having any problems.
The location was great. Kids loved the stream. Its an older property but worked well for us. Had plenty of space to visit. some parts were better for AC but it wasn't too bad. We had 60 people but they let us have a few more come over for reunion evening meals. It worked out nice for us. Overall, we had a good experience.
House was adequate for the large group we had of 70+. Bring your own bath towels and hand soap. I don’t want to sit and knitpick but for the price we paid for our stay the hand soap in the bathrooms shouldn’t be watered down. And it’s a good thing we brought our own toilet paper. One roll per day per bathroom is not nearly enough for a large group. Lots of construction debris located all around the property wasn’t really ideal with small children running about. Basement bedrooms do not have windows which seems like a major safety issue. All in all it served its purpose. The creek running through the property was fun to do a polar plunge in. Garbage was picked up so we had plenty of room in the garbage cans. Close proximity to the lake, golf course, and grocery store was very convenient.
There were some fantastic features of this place, but there were several issues as well. We loved how big it was and we loved that there were lots of cooking appliances. We loved that there were four grills (although one of them didn't work). We also loved the location (although it was difficult to find for some of our group). The biggest issue we had with the place was that the listing says it has a/c. In reality, PARTS of the place have a/c. Some of our group had to try and sleep in very warm rooms that didn't even cool down enough during the night and the main rooms, including the kitchen, were always warm. We opened the windows at night to try and cool down the place, but then we ended up having problems with bugs and mice, because some of the screens were not secured well. Another big issue was that we didn't know where to locate extra bedding for all the futon beds. It was unclear, and in such a maze of a house, we didn't discover bedding until several days into our stay. It would be nice if extra bedding would be with the extra beds. The manager was very prompt at responding and trying to take care of issues that we had and I really appreciated that. And I really think it could be a great place if given some more TLC. We loved all the tables and seating and the game room was fun. the playground area was fun too, but we were expecting better grassy locations as shown in the pictures. We had mixed feelings about it for sure!

You Bet. Here is the Summary. We recently stayed at this cabin with a larger group and had a mixed experience.Pros: • There was plenty of parking, which made arrival and departure easy for everyone. • The eating area was spacious enough to accommodate our whole group, which was a nice bonus • It was very convenient having 4 grills, 2 which are black stones, which allowed for ease of cooking meals for a crowd. Cons: • Unfortunately, the cabin lacked a large common area for everyone to gather comfortably, which made group time a bit difficult. • The sleeping arrangements were quite cramped, and it felt like the space was stretched beyond its intended purpose we had 40 people sleeping it advertised 60-70, very cramped and tight. • Cleanliness was an issue—some areas were not as clean as expected upon arrival. • We had issues with the AC and actually were discouraged to use the A/C, by the owner, which made the space often uncomfortable during the stay. Especially in the evening. Many had sleepless nights in the cabin. There were tape on some of the AC units. It was told to just open the windows and it would cool down. It didn't cool down. • Towels were not included and had to be rented, which felt inconvenient and unexpected. This is the first time we have seen this in a rental. This is a standard item whenever renting a house.
We had around 30 people, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Nice quiet area, with stream flowing.
We enjoyed this place. The kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, bowls and dishes. except the scissors and can opener were broken. Four refrigerators so we could fit all the food we brought. Plenty of room to hang together or apart. Big game room with pool table ping-pong table and a basketball game (that needed new batteries),and some books and puzzles and toys. We had our corn hole tournament out on the front lawn there are big pine trees to give shade, with a stream running through. It was a nice place to hang out. It is an older place, so it needs a bit of upkeep, like The front screen door hangs a tad crooked so it doesn’t shut properly without being pulled into place . Some walls need cleaning and new paint, there were dust bunnies in nooks and crannies corners. The room my son was in had a folding closet door not hung just leaning against the side. The sliding glass door in one of the bathrooms came off and slid into the tub Narrowly missing my father-in-law’s feet. Some of the drains were slow to drain and the air conditioning only cools part the house and this is the first VRBO that we’ve stayed at where the bath towels were not included we had to rent them from the caretaker who stays on site and may or may not have come into the house and changed the AC to a temperature that she wanted while we were gone to the lake. Overall we had a blast because we are family, and we have positive attitudes,
Great property with plenty of room for our huge family reunion. Will be back!! .
Held our huge family reunion here and it was wonderful. The property was spacious and beautiful! There was plenty of space and amenities. Everything was well maintained and Joyce and her husband were so helpful and welcoming!
The lodge was very nice, along with the surrounding area. A room or two were too small but doable. We felt that requiring us to take off the bedding, empty trash at the end, and do a lot of cleaning was overdone since we were paying a cleaning fee for others to clean. Overall, however, our group of 42 or so had a very nice time. Thanks.
Joyce and family were excellent hosts. We had everything we needed and her communications were clear and reasonable. The property is beautiful and very close to the lake.
Thank you for a great time!
