About this property
Modern A-Frame Cabin in Nature, Minutes from Main
Summary:
Stay in a modern A-frame cabin on 17 scenic acres just outside Fredericksburg. The Comal sleeps 2–4 with a king bedroom, open loft, and sleeper sofa option. Relax on the deck, grill dinner outdoors, lounge in the private stock tank pool (with optional heater), or gather around the propane fire pit under starry skies. Less than 10 minutes to Main Street, this is the perfect Hill Country escape.
The Space:
Master Bedroom (Main Floor):
King-sized bed with hotel-quality linens and window shades for comfort and privacy.
Loft:
A cozy open loft with a queen-sized bed and skylights to take in the Hill Country sky. Skylights include blinds for those who prefer darkness. The loft is open to the living room below and accessed by a ladder.
Kitchen:
Well-equipped for light cooking with a microwave, 2-plate electric range, toaster oven, and cookware. Includes a drip coffee maker, Keurig, French press, and electric kettle. We provide locally roasted Hill Country coffee, creamers, and sugar (BYO Keurig pods).
Bathroom:
Walk-in shower with soft towels, plus Public Goods shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Hair dryer provided.
Living Area:
A comfortable lounge space designed for relaxation — curl up with a book or log into your favorite streaming apps on the smart TV. A sleeper sofa is available for one additional guest if needed.
Outdoor Spaces:
Unwind on the deck patio overlooking a dry creek and native oaks. Enjoy a propane grill for cooking out, gather around the propane fire pit, or cool off in your private stock tank pool. The pool is treated by our team before and during each stay as needed and features an optional heater guests can activate (1–2 hours to heat). Guests also have access to the shared cedar sauna, available on a first come, first serve basis for all property guests.
Guest Access:
Guests have full access to the Comal Cabin, its private deck, pool, and patio space.
Common amenities such as toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, etc. are provided — and we’re happy to bring more if you need extra during your stay.
Watch for deer when driving in — they’re abundant on the property.
Pack ’n Play available upon request.
Additional Notes:
- Sleeps 2–4 comfortably; option for 5th guest on sleeper sofa.
- $35/person per day fee applies for extra guests beyond 4.
We want your stay to be comfortable and safe. A few simple guidelines:
- No small children in the loft (ladder access).
- No pets, please.
- No smoking inside or around the cabins.
- Only flush toilet paper (septic system).
- Check-in: 4:00 PM | Check-out: 11:00 AM. Early check-in may be available upon request for a fee, if capacity allows.
- Parking is limited to gravel drives and designated spots only.
Thank you for helping us keep A-Frame Ranch peaceful, clean, and welcoming!o explore the 17 acres during daylight hours, but be mindful of other guests' privacy.
The Neighborhood:
A-Frame Ranch is set on 17 wooded acres with post oak and mesquite trees, giving you the peaceful feel of the Hill Country while being just minutes from downtown Fredericksburg. Wineries, dance halls, hiking trails, and Main Street’s restaurants and shops are all close by.
Getting Around:
The cabin is accessed by a gravel road with some rocky sections. We recommend driving slowly and paying attention when coming in — it’s not an issue if you take it easy, and it adds to the charm of being tucked away in the country. Having a car is the most convenient way to get around Fredericksburg, though Uber and other rideshares are available (with limited availability at times).
Other Things to Note:
We’re in a designated Dark Sky Community, which makes for incredible stargazing — but nights can be very dark. We recommend bringing a flashlight if you plan to walk around after dark.
This is the Texas Hill Country, so you may encounter bugs or wildlife. The property is routinely treated for pest control, but critters are part of the natural setting — don’t be surprised if you come across some outside (or inside if doors are left open).
This property is on well water, which is naturally very hard. That can occasionally cause some mineral buildup on shower heads or glass surfaces in the bathrooms. Our team works hard to keep everything clean, but a bit of buildup is part of life in the Hill Country and not a reflection of cleanliness.
Interaction with Guests:
We’re a team of Fredericksburg locals who love our town and are passionate about sharing it with visitors. You’ll have plenty of privacy during your stay, but we’re always happy to help — whether that means offering local recommendations, answering questions by phone, or coming out in person if needed.
