Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Security deposit "hold" of $300 placed 2 days prior to arrival and released 2 days after departure providing no damage settlement needed.
Indoor fireplace available usually 10/15-3/31. Outdoor firepit- observe burn bans, no fires left unattended & put out before leaving campfire.

Our host was great and communicated with us prior to our stay and during. The cabin was clean and fully stocked. We opted to cook while we were there and found everything we needed to make the meals we had planned. The neighborhood was quiet and we had plenty of time to relax and feel no stress. Me and my two kids loved our stay at Shady Shack. We felt very safe and comfortable. We loved how it felt secluded, but yet it was near all of the Hochatown attractions. My kids loved the hot tub and outdoor TV area. We also loved being able to build an outdoor fire. My kids are already asking to come back every year. Thank you, Chris!

Mother’s Day weekend getaway

Wife’s birthday fell on mother’s day this year so I surprised her with a weekend get away! This cabin was perfect for me, my wife, and our 10 year old daughter. Property manager was attentive and helpful. Cabin amenities are perfect, and the neighborhood is awesome! Can’t recommend enough, only complaint is we didn’t stay longer!

25th Anniversary

We really enjoyed The Shady Shack. Chris communicated with us and check in was easy. We enjoyed some much needed R&R. I lived in the hot tub and on the game playing Pac Man and Galaga. My husband did not want to leave the back deck and TV. Enjoyed the fireworks at Chocatow Landing and food at Hochatown Saloon!! Can't wait to stay here again!! Cabin was absolutely perfect!!

We bought our first cabin in 2018. Although we have traveled and stayed in many over the years, this was our first time owning one. It was a 5BR new build that we thoroughly enjoyed. After many relaxing trips and getting to know the area, we decided this was the special place that we wanted to expand our business. Having a construction background, it was easy to meet the right local people to help build our future cabins. We have since sold the original cabin, but have built six 1BR cabins that we think are the perfect destination for your next relaxing stay. We hope that you enjoy them as much as we do. Within 3 hours of most surrounding metroplexes, Hochatown is a local escape where unlimited adventure awaits. With the short drive from Flower Mound, I have found it the perfect get-a-way and spend around 50 nights per year there. So please, pick from one of our 6 cabins & come see what is so special about this place. Who knows, there's a good chance that you run into us on the trail, lake or relaxing at one of the amazing breweries.
