The house was nice and provided mostly what we needed for our family to have a place to stay. I did have some disappointments that could have been avoided. The oven did not work, there was a baseball size hole on an outside panel of a window, the grass was long, and the pathway to the fire pit did not look like the pictures. We enjoyed using the shuffleboard table and the country area of the property was nice.
The host did not respond to emails of questions or problems. The oven, dishwasher and garburator were not working. We could not get the hot tub to work and there was no wood for the fire pit. We had to wash dishes by hand but there were no tea towels. There was no corkscrew or can opener and inadequate drinking glasses. No propane for the deck fire feature. There was one small towel per person and no extra toilet paper or paper towel. There were no instructions on site for anything like trash pick-up. The property generally was not well maintained. Overall it was the worst rental we have ever experienced.
I hate to leave poor reviews, but this is absolutely warranted based on our overall experience. First off, the host/owner/“management” of this property had very poor communication. I would get generic copy/paste information on checkin/checkout times and procedures that conflicted with the listing details or even the property location (one message referenced a property in Irving and a garage, which this property does not have). When I asked for clarification on checkin time, I would get no response. Our family stayed the entire week of Thanksgiving and told the host as such upon booking that the purpose of the rental was for having our family together for Thanksgiving meal, and received a rude response from the host a week after booking, stating that we would need to pay an event fee. I clarified that we were not having a party or event. After checking in, we had a message the night before thanksgiving from the “management” stating that the oven did not work and that due to the holiday they could not get a technician out to fix it. I checked the recent reviews, and a stay from JULY stated the oven didn’t work! So they failed to tell us this prior to arrival and we were there for a full week during Thanksgiving with the intention of cooking a meal, and were stuck without a working oven. The property itself was fine and beds were comfortable. There were no instructions for the hot tub, and eventually got it to work, but it took three full days to heat up enough to use.
Stayed 3 days with my family, it was really a nice experience. The management was just a text away and responds really quick. I recommend this place if you want a weekend getaway with your friends and family.
