Barbi and Keith's Kottage | Hot Tub | 1 block to Main

This adorable cottage is just a block from the heart of downtown Fredericksburg. Typical of homes built in the early 1900's, there are two doors upon entering the house. The long front porch is also typical of this era and today it is sprinkled with great rockers for guests to relax and enjoy the people passing by.

Inside is a cozy yet elegant living room with sofa (queen sleeper) and comfy chair placed to enjoy the television. Red accents along with the pale yellow walls and wood floors make this room relaxing and inviting. The kitchen is small but has everything you need for your stay. There is a large refrigerator, range/oven, microwave and coffeemaker.

The two bedrooms in the house offer a king and queen. The king bed has an iron headboard and vaulted ceilings with old tin roofing used on the ceiling contribute to an appealing rustic décor. An antique headboard and footboard are found on the queen size bed in the front bedroom. Both bedrooms are conveniently located near the bathroom, which has a large tiled shower.

Just outside the back door is a small deck with a hot tub for enjoying the outdoors. There is also a seating area in the yard around the old cistern to relish those times when you just want to enjoy our refreshing Fredericksburg mornings and evenings.

Please be aware that the home's televisions do not feature any television programming. As a result, if you want to watch live television or a program from a subscription service, you will need to bring your own log in information from home with you.

Nice and cozy home

This house is very well maintained and comfortable. Close to Main Street where all the shops and restaurants are. Quiet place!! I highly recommend staying here. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Fredericksburg. Awesome hot tub included.

I loved this place! It was in the perfect location! It is a short walking distance from everything you would want to do in Fredericksburg! The only thing is, I wish the hot tub had some privacy.

We enjoyed our stay. Great location. Would have appreciated an extra roll of paper towels. Could not shut the door between front bdrm and living room. Needs to be trimmed..Great shower. Enjoyed the table and chairs out back.

Beautiful cottag with hot tub. Everything was ready and clean. Plenty of towels, dishes, and extras. Plenty of room for 4 or more adults. Just 1 block off of main street yet very quiet and private parking. Easy check in and out. We could not be more pleased with our stay.

Loved the hot tub!

We had 5 women that stayed for 2 nights. The house was at a perfect location one block off of Main St. We loved having the hot tub. In the evenings after all the shops were closed we would go back to the house and enjoy the hot tub with a glass of wine. The only negative was they didn't supply us with enough toilet paper. There was only three rolls for five women for three days and two nights.

The house was very cute, cozy and comfortable. It was decorated very cute and we felt right at home.

My 3 daughters and I met up for a girls’ weekend during Spring Break. The house was one block off Main Street which made it perfect. It was quiet but walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and wineries. One of our favorite things to do was the Ghost Tour. It was awesome! The tour guide was informative and shared lots of Fredericksburg’s history. Thanks again Barbi and Keith for such a great place to stay! My daughters and I couldn’t have picked anything more perfect! I highly recommend staying here and will rent it again when visiting Fredericksburg.

Loved the cottage, but was concerned by the fact that there is only one exit in case of an emergency. For safety purposes one of the front doors should be able to be opened. That would also make it nice for accessing the front porch. Also, an upgrade to a Keurig would be nice. The coffee was not very good.

A Truly Pleasant Surprise

It was our first stay at this guesthouse and the pictures we saw on the Gastehaus Schmidt website could not have displayed the true charm of the vintage home, huge yard, and the warm atmosphere of the home. Like stepping back in time. We plan to stay there again whenever we can.

Nice little getaway, great location!

This house is so cute and has everything you need. I do wish the back yard or at least hot tub area had privacy fence. Also, the beds are cute and go with the old-fashioned theme but very wobbly. Other than that, everything was great. The house was very clean and had coffee available for the morning. It's peaceful and one block from Main, which was awesome.
