About this property
The Shed | Luxurious Country Accommodation
*The property features a pool that is available for an additional $50/night (before tax). At the time of booking, please let us know if you'd like access to the pool.*
Located just a few miles from Fredericksburg, The Shed offers wonderful views of the countryside. Originally a sheep shearing shed, this residence was built around the same time as the original house. It has been converted into the lovely yet comfortable home you now see. Your hosts did 95% of the work themselves and took great joy in creating the wonderful little cabin for their guests. The original roof tin, framing and much of the lumber was reused in the construction. Most of the furniture and all of the window shutters were built using reclaimed wood that used to line the shed walls. Original photos are showcased in the cabin.
As you drive up to The Shed, you will notice a great porch that wraps around half of the cabin. Seating on the porch is perfect for enjoying the countryside views. Inside is a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath. Your hosts call the decor “rustic luxury,” which you will find is both comfortable and well appointed.
The living room has a comfy sofa and oversized leather chair all placed to enjoy the Smart TV with satellite television programming. There are even a few games to enjoy during your stay. A fully equipped kitchen is adjacent and open to the living room. A large refrigerator, range/oven, microwave and coffeemaker are found in the kitchen.
The bedroom has a queen bed with a country patchwork quilt. Other Texana decor is found in the bedroom. The bath has a tub/shower.
Things to know:
1. Your host lives in separate, private residence on the property. Your accommodation and this other house are around 25 yards from each other.
2. The ceilings of the accommodation, particularly in the bedroom, are quite low. Anyone close to 6'0" tall or larger might find that their head touches the ceiling.
Please Note: You are renting a cabin in the Hill Country which means you may encounter wildlife (Snakes, Deer, Racoons, ETC). Please be aware of your surroundings, and take caution while driving at night. You may also encounter the various bugs, spiders, scorpions and mice that live in the country AND sometimes do make their way inside. All properties do utilize pest control services on a regular basis BUT this does not guarantee no pests or bugs will be visible.
