Girls weekend

The house is spacious and charming! There are a lot of original details that feel very welcoming and cozy and it’s well appointed for groups to stay at. The hosts thought of everything you may have forgotten and had it available for use. We throughly enjoyed the back patio and loved having our own space to relax- it’s on a main road but you wouldn’t guess as it’s fairly quiet. As a group we already discussed coming back and reserving this same property!

Great place

Really enjoyed staying here. Lovely location, easy communication, all as expected. Short drive to public beaches (not walking distance) and we didn’t use the private beach because the road was too rough for my sedan. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and it was a reasonable rate.

LC retreat

Suzie’s place was a great retreat from the city, close to everything in LC, and nice walking distance to the shore.

Quaint and Relaxing 18th Century Home

This home is comfortable. The bedrooms are clean. For one of our days, we drove to the private beach and enjoyed looking for shells and creating sand castles. It was a joy to make such good memories together as a family.

Relaxing and quaint

This is a very quaint farmhouse! We went with our extended family and we comfortably fit. There is a nice fire pit out back and the farm stand has a good selection. They gave us a lot of free produce and each room had cut flowers. I highly recommend this place :)

Little Compton stay

Charming and pretty antique home with plenty of room. Original details which we loved. Kitchen has all utensils needed. Grounds and views are quite lovely/rural. On a fairly busy road but it quiets down at night. Short drive to local beaches and towns. Will stay again!

Great location in Little Compton

This historic farmhouse was perfect for our needs. While rustic and from a prior century, we adapted nicely. We were able to brings our two dogs and the property owners could not have been better to work with. Using this as a base, we were able to explore Little Compton from top to bottom.

Wonderful stay in Little Compton

The house was wonderful and well equipped. We used to live in a 200-year-old house, and the children enjoyed spending time in one again. Everyone, including the dog, enjoyed the copse of trees in the backyard, and the kids were thrilled with the hidden hammock. The area is gorgeous and allowed us to easily visit Newport, Tiverton, and Portsmouth. We hope to come again in warmer weather so we can visit the farm stand next door and make more use of the beach access. The Walkers are excellent hosts!

The owner was most pleasant, accomodating and easy to work with. Their roadside stand was superb and the sandwiches at Wilma's was scrumptious!!! We enjoyed the area and the rest and relaxation. However, the house could use some updating, interior paint and new wallpaper. This would make the house irrisitible to renters.

Short Fall Weekend

Rented the house to be close to a local wedding in little Compton. It was perfect, beautiful and clean, very cute. Went for a run in the neighborhood - very scenic. Went twice to the homes private beach access - beautiful, quiet, no one else in sight - just my family and our dogs running around and playing. Went to the winery close by (dogs also allowed there!) and also the stand and bakery next door which was delicious. Good value, it was a great weekend!

Absolutely beautiful

The home was gorgeous and spotless. Everything we needed for a weekend away was available - when we realized we needed propane for the grill Coll had some brought over away. There are so many updated appliances: grills, coffee maker, washer/dryer etc that you really have everything you want & more in a weekend rental. While we had a rainy Memorial Day weekend the house was cozy and spacious and our group had an absolutely amazing weekend-in this gorgeous and unique space

LC = A little bit of heaven

The house and its furnishings are so lovely, well-kept, and comfortable. We appreciated the time machine trip to the 18th century! Like Pride and Prejudice! The dining room was just the right size. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a giant lobster pot! The beds were perfect. We had a beautiful fire pit fire the last night of our stay. The Farm Market next door had wonderful produce. When we needed help (twice), we got a response fast, sometimes instantly. I'm so looking forward to next time we stay!

A 17th century cottage near farmstands & greenhouses

This cottage is the original building from 1770 at Walker’s Farm. It’s cozy. Across the street is Young Family Farm with their farmstand. About a block away is Peckham’s which is the state’s most beloved houseplant and garden plant seller. They are open year round. The big public beach is about a 12 minute drive or you can go to the owner’s private river beach around the corner. The house is old and not fancy. But it’s sweet and the location is fantastic.

Graduation weekend at the farmhouse

Suzie and Coll could not have been more gracious hosts. There were 8 of us in RI from around the country for a RWU graduation ceremony, and the farmhouse was perfect (it felt like Ireland with the rolling countryside and beautiful stone walls)! Starting with the fresh cut flowers in every room, the helpful local tips from Suzie and the well appointed kitchen, we were all set for our weekend. There is a vineyard 1/4 mile up the road which has lovely views of the surrounding countryside. The home was built in the 1700's but everything was very nice and had wonderful character. If our travels bring us back to this area we will definitely be back! Dee.

Quaint and relaxing

We booked a week here sight unseen and were surprised at the age of this charming dwelling. This house is OLD yet clean and cute. Ful amenities with many antiques spinkled about the house. You won’t have to bring anything except food. They had plenty of towels, sheets, utensils, a few spices, and even some yard toys. I assume most families donate a few items when they leave and it’s all available to you. We left a a pkg of marshmallow sticks and a few grill things for the next family. There’s no dishwasher, but we used paper plates so.... Also a beautiful farm stand next door and a cute country store a few miles away. Great restaurants nearby. Try the boat house! We had a relaxing vacation here. I have one small suggestion/complaint. We didn’t know where to put any trash, or how to find an extension cord. There are a few lights and air conditioners that are placed no where near any outlets. If I came again I would bring 2-3 8’ cords with me. We found out later that there is a dumpster behind the farm stand, so we brought the trash over there. Maybe a letter on the table explaining all the details would be a nice touch. There is a washer and dryer, but no hairdryer that I could find. Not a luxury vacation for sure, but a relaxing one, spent with family in a very old farmhouse. Enjoy!

We really enjoyed the farm house. The house itself brought us to a place back in time and fit the surroundings beautifully. Ian is simply a good guy and shared his family stories with my family including his grandparents and his experience as a kid growing up there. Memories will include the tomatoes from the farm and the magnificent stars.

This old farmhouse rocks! So much charm, character and space. We enjoyed campfires in the evening, beautiful sunsets, walks on the acreage. The outdoor shower was the best (don't let one full BR discourage you) The major thing missing was the internet (we were there for a month, would have liked to stream a movie or two, check accts, etc.). Other than that one thing, the house, yard, the access to Little Compton Briggs Beach was perfect. Ian was a GREAT HOST!

1770 Farm House

This historic property oozes charm. All the mechanicals worked perfectly, i.e., plumbing, hot water (plentiful); showers ( indoor and outdoor); electrical; and air conditioning. Although we had some of the hottest temps of the year, the AC on both the 1st and 2nd floors was outstanding! The host was incredibly quick to respond and rescued us within minutes when we locked ourselves out.The home was spotless and retains the character one might wish for in a 1770s home while providing the conveniences of a modernized structure. The porch and back yard were enjoyable. Access to a private beach was frosting on the cake! The beds and linens were comfortable and the rooms were tastefully arranged and decorated. This is Little Compton personified! We look forward to returning next summer
