A great home located in a convenient location. The home was clean and well maintained with great backyard space for our four-legged family member. The owners were very responsive and communicated promptly. We would absolutely look for this home when visiting again.
Rooms were very clean and spacious, looked just like the photos. Very accommodating and friendly host even with the large group of people staying. Convenient spot as well, it’s right by downtown Detroit for events or conventions. Would recommend this spot to anybody!
Great place to stay! We enjoyed the beautiful home and location! Thank you for having us! Owners are very responsive(we didn't have any issues just questions) Thanks again! We'd love to stay here again when we visit Detroit.

There needs to be a better shovel or salt for the stairs; the stairs were super icey and the shovel was flimsy. The coffee maker is broken and the beds are ALL HARD. None of us slept and we only stayed one night when were were booked for two.
We had a great stay here! The house was really clean and well maintained, the rooms were comfortable and spacious, and the house had some really nice amenities (soaking bath and laundry in the basement, for example !!). Our hosts were really responsive yet also gave us space to enjoy our stay our own way- it was great to feel like they were available for problem solving even though we never interacted with them irl! The neighbors were nice too- I’d encourage any future visitors here to be kind to and respectful of the neighbors and the neighborhood, which was a really easy jumping off point for exploring the rest of Detroit. I would love to stay here again next time I’m visiting the city.

About the host
Hosted by Benjamin
Detroit isn't just where we host, it's home. Our family has deep roots in this city and we've watched Detroit's comeback story unfold firsthand. Motown in The Village is our small way of being a part of it, sharing a neighborhood we love with people who want to experience Detroit the right way.
I'm a U.S. Army National Guard Commissioned Officer, and the same values that guide my service, attention to detail, reliability, and genuine care for people, are what I bring to every stay. When you book with us you're getting a host who takes this seriously. The home will be exactly as described, communication will be prompt, and if anything comes up I'll handle it.
We're always happy to point you toward the local spots that don't show up on the tourist lists.
Welcome to the D.
Why they chose this property
Indian Village is one of Detroit's best kept secrets. The architecture alone is worth the visit, grand historic homes lining tree-canopied streets that tell the story of what this city has always been capable of. It's quiet, safe, and genuinely residential, but you're minutes from everything that makes Detroit one of the most exciting cities in the country right now.
For a family with deep Detroit roots, there was no better place to plant a flag. This neighborhood represents everything we believe about this city, that the foundation was always strong, and the best days are still ahead. Watching new restaurants, businesses, and neighbors invest in Detroit's east side has been something special to be a part of.
When you stay here you're not in a tourist corridor. You're in a real neighborhood, and that's exactly the point.
What makes this property unique
Motown in The Village sits in a category of its own. It's a historic home with real character, updated with modern amenities so you get the charm of Indian Village without sacrificing any of the comforts you'd expect. Guests consistently tell us the space feels pristine, spacious, and thoughtfully decorated, with plenty of natural light and a soaking tub that more than one guest has called a highlight of their stay.
The location does something most Detroit listings can't. You're in a quiet, tree-lined residential neighborhood with easy parking right out front, but downtown, Belle Isle, and the West Village shops and coffee are minutes away. Groups use this home as the perfect base to actually explore the city rather than just sleep in it.
What really sets this home apart is the hosting. We're responsive, attentive, and genuinely invested in making your stay great. If something comes up, we handle it. If you need something, ask. That's not a tagline, it's how we operate.
