About this property
Eagles Crossing is a Newly Renovated 3-Bed Farmhouse with a Large Deck & Hot Tub
THE FARMHOUSE
Eagles Crossing, located in Anna, IL, was the original farmhouse in the Hickory Lake subdivision. Its name, Eagles Crossing, comes from the two eagles that patrol the two properties to the South and North of the house. E.C. is perfectly located just 1 mile East of Anna on 7 acres of land. You are a 10-minute drive to the Shawnee Wine Trail, a 15-minute drive to Fern Cliff, a 45-minute drive to The Garden of the Gods, and a 20-minute drive to SIU's campus.
Eagles Crossing was built in 1910 but, in 2025, we did a head-to-toe renovation. This is the 5th home that Misty Mae Designs has helped us renovate. The house, a mid-century hunting lodge, greets you with the main living area that boasts 14-foot vaulted ceilings and two massive live edge slab doors that my dad made from a local lumber company. This design makes this 1800 square foot home feel like it is twice as big as you also have a 75-inch flat screen mounted over a fireplace, large island bar, and stainless-steel appliances.
The "Tree House Master" bedroom was named because of the way the king size bed sits just below the four large windows that overlook the 7 acres of land. The "Back Bedroom" also has a view over the property and has two twin beds that we can make into another king size bed, if you prefer. The "Front Bedroom" has a queen size bed and faces the front yard. All the bedrooms have memory foam cool gel mattresses
The "Master Bathroom" has a stand-up tile shower and the "Main Bathroom" located off the main living area near the two bedrooms has a full bathtub/shower. In addition to the bathrooms, the "Mud Room" is fully loaded with supplies, extra towels, and full-size washer and dryer. We also added a 300 square foot deck to the back of the house with a 6-person sunk-in hot tub, massive gas grill, and seating for six.
EATING, DRINKING, AND RECREATION IN THE AREA…..
Groceries: E.C. is located only a 1-minute drive to our local Farmstead Market, a 2-minute drive to the Super Walmart and a 3-minute drive to Kroger. There is also a local farmers market in down-town Anna on Tuesday mornings and, depending on the season, Bass Farms has a produce stand 10-min away where you can get fresh Tomatoes, Strawberries, Blueberries, Blackberries and more.
Food & Drink: There are more than 30 wineries in the Southern Illinois Area, most hosting live music and serving food during the weekends. After you book with us, we will share all of our favourite local places
Golf & Pickleball: There are 4 golf courses within 20 miles of Eagles Crossing including what I consider the best value in all of Illinois only 5 miles away at Union County Country Club. We will be happy to share with you all the golf and pickleball places in our area.
Hiking & Hunting: There are over 15 amazingly scenic trails and viewing areas within 50 miles of Eagles Crossing. Including many in the Shawnee National Forest, Giant City State Park and Fern Clyffe State Park. There are many public hunting areas and hunting clubs throughout Southern Illinois.
There are so many reasons to visit Southern Illinois no matter where you stay but Eagles Crossing will make your visit memorable.

It is great to have people experience the place where I grew up and still live. We love this property because of the history and all the personal touches that my wife Misty, my dad, and my friend Jim put into Eagles Crossing. It’s fun when Misty Mae Designs works on our own places and you can tell the passion that went into Eagles Crossing. We are excited to share the place!
