Everything was great about our stay! We spent the day with our kids and grandkids at Brookfield Zoo - and it was nice to have a clean, inviting place to crash for the night - plenty of room - comfy beds for all - remodeled bathrooms - quiet stay! We would stay there again without hesitation!

A few things didn't work: drain in downstairs bathtub (so couldn't give my kid a bath), an outlet (and there aren't many per room), and a door didn't stay shut; kitchen and bathrooms and linens were clean but floors had lots of dust. My toddler loved the toy trucks and it was nice to have a high chair. Safe neighborhood and being close to the zoo was nice. Appreciated the linens, coffee, plastic bags for packing lunches, and other things stocked.

Thanks Maranda. Glad you enjoyed your stay. We didn't notice that drain was broken-that is a brand new tub, so previous guests must have broken it. We will check the outlet and I have forwarded your comment to our cleaning crew to make sure that is addressed!

Excellent location, right by the zoo, the place is well stocked and clean, in a nice neighborhood. Close to attractions and easy to go to other western suburbs of Chicago. Has everything we needed :). The host was great with communicating and was able to allow us to borrow a pack n play as well. Would stay again!

This house exceeded our expectations! Great condition with excellent furniture and appliances. Very spacious and well laid-out. So much of the house has been renovated, including a beautiful bathroom on the main floor. They even had toy trucks that our 2-year-old grandchild enjoyed playing with. Plus excellent communication from host. We would definitely stay here again!

Comfortable stay outside Chicago

We had a comfortable two-night stay in this house outside Chicago next to the Brookfield Zoo. We spent most of our time in Chicago visiting sites, taking tours, shopping, and visiting museums. We came to this house in the evening and had plenty of room to relax in the living room watching TV and playing some games on the Nintendo Switch we brought along. The dining room table is large and seated everyone and another large table in the kitchen was used for breakfast. We spread out into all four bedrooms (7 people total in my family, 6 adult-size and one child-size) and were comfortable. We appreciated the washer dryer in the basement to get some clean clothes. We didn't do any cooking during our stay but the kitchen had available pots and pans.Overall it was a good stay. The host was very responsive to questions and helpful before and during our stay.

The property was clean and suited our needs for a partial family reunion and landing spot. Description matched the property and host(s) were very responsive when we had a minor issue with the tv’s remote control.

About the host

Hosted by Christopher Janetopoulos

Host profile image
Our family grew up in this house, and several of us still live nearby. It's a very safe and welcoming neighborhood, with a beautiful forest preserve just a few hundred feet away—a place we loved exploring as kids. Taking the train is the easiest way to get downtown, and we highly recommend it. Nearby downtown Brookfield also has several family-friendly restaurants and bars where we often spend time.

Why they chose this property

We chose this location because it’s truly fantastic—you’re close to everything. The layout of the city makes it difficult for cars to pass straight through town, which helps keep traffic light and the neighborhood peaceful.

What makes this property unique

Our place stands out for its modern amenities and natural surroundings. The kitchen and bathrooms are beautifully updated—especially the brand-new first-floor bathroom with a double vanity. The fenced-in yard is perfect for young kids to play safely. For those who enjoy the outdoors, the nearby forest preserve offers paved bike trails, wooded paths to explore, and even spots where you can launch kayaks or canoes.
