Stranded with kids

I never recieved access info...was told i couldnt cancel so we drove all the way there wuth 2 young kids after a long day in a hot water park. Finally the property owner answered , he didnt even know it was rented and that vrbo should not have rented it. The place wasnt ready and quite frankly looked scary from the outside. The property owner did refund me. But we didnt get any sort of restitution for our time gas or troubles...from there we had to drive all the way home and cut our family vacation short. None the least i am very disappointed.
