IMPORTANT FEATURES

1) This cottage is a direct ocean-front property and is situated on a corner lot, providing its lucky guests with an wonderful view of the ocean from two sides.

2) An adjoining half-bath and dressing room makes this perfect for family groups.

3) High Speed Internet (fiber optics system just installed) & cable TV provided.

3) The nearby Melrose Beach is within walking distance.

You will find yourself strolling from your cottage to the beach over and over. This pristine and secluded beach is perfect for long walks, jogging, and even bike riding. (No golf carts here, though! This is a nesting area for the endangered Loggerhead Turtles.) Families especially enjoy the relatively calm waters where children can swim and play without fear of a strong undertow. It’s a great beach for building sand castles and hunting for shells and sand dollars after the tide goes out.

The wildlife is abundant and breathtaking. The resort is the home of a Great White Egret rookery, where you will see hundreds of these graceful birds settle in for the night. A nest of American Bald Eagles can be seen now and then, and some lucky visitors can actually catch site of a Loggerhead Turtle coming ashore to lay hundreds of eggs in the soft sand.

You will want to spend time exploring the rest of this unique and special island. Accessible only by ferry, Daufuskie's isolation from the hustle and bustle of the mainland provides a one-of-its-kind experience for those looking to truly get away from it all.

If you're looking for an old-fashioned Beach vacation experience, this beautiful cottage will exceed your expectations. This is a very popular cottage with island visitors, so be sure to reserve your time at this lovely vacation home today!

Concerned about the logistics of coming to a bridge-less island? No need to worry! Guests receive information and assistance from the DRG team, all of whom live on the island and who are available 24/7 for any problems. Team members strive to create a stress-free and enjoyable adventure for their visitors, and to ensure that their Daufuskie experience creates lasting and once-in-a-lifetime memories.

Daufuskie Rental Group, an on-island team of professionals dedicated to sharing the island dream with visitors.
Location, location, location! The beautiful and spacious Blue Fuskie Cottage provides its lucky renters with a front row view of the Atlantic Ocean that has to be seen to be appreciated. Talk about a WOW factor!! Imagine yourself driving on your rented golf cart through a quiet road lined with Live Oaks draped with Spanish moss, pulling up to the back entrance of your vacation home, walking into your bright and spacious living room, and being greeted with a dazzling panorama of the ocean and blue sky just beyond. Trust us…It just doesn’t get any better than this!

This vacation home has undergone a major renovation that created a large open floor plan tastefully decorated with a subtle coastal seascape theme. The cottage was designed to provide an ideal space for family get-togethers, including an open kitchen with granite counter tops and updated appliances overlooking the living room and dining areas.

Each of the two oversized bedrooms has its own private bathroom (an additional half-bath is conveniently located off of the living room) and provide a lovely and serene setting where you will fall asleep listening to the nearby ocean waves.

Your cottage includes a screened-in porch on the ocean side, and what a perfect place to enjoy to enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sun come up over the ocean! You will actually see glimpses of both South Carolina and Georgia from here, with Hilton Head off to your left, and the Tybee Island lighthouse on your right. And straight ahead….nothing but soaring sea gulls, a beautiful stretch of sandy beach, and of course, the deep blue ocean itself!

We will be happy to help facilitate ground transportation and cart rental for exploring the island. Bikes are also available for rent.

Melrose Beach is within walking distance of your cottage. The equestrian center is also back in operation, and beach horseback riding is available.

A Good Time Was Had By All !
Like so many people, I have been feeling the stress of all that is going on, business, and the pace of life. I realized I needed a vacation and the thought of staying at a crowded hotel and not being able to get out when I needed just did not interest me. I went on line and saw this beautiful house and realized this is where I wanted/needed to stay. I reserved the house before talking with my Wife but she agreed that this place looked great! When we got there, the property was as beautiful as the pictures and we spent 4 relaxing days listening to the waves looking at the amazing views. I had plans for so many things, but the house was so relaxing and comfortable that I spent most of the time in a state of bliss. The house had everything I would have imagined and we wanted for nothing. This was one of the best vacations we've ever had and will be going back to Daufuskie on a regular basis. We are counting the days when we can return!

About the host

The owners are a Virginia family who love Daufuskie and enjoy visiting Daufuskie as often as possible. They enjoy sharing the beautiful Blue Fuskie Cottage with vacation visitors.

This property is managed by Daufuskie Rental Group, a Daufuskie-based team. (DRG's owner, Deborah Smith, lives across from the Blue Fuskie Cottage and is available to help 24/7.)

Why they chose this property

Quite simply, this vacation home has it all! Lovely cottage, unsurpassed ocean and beach views and...most of all...situated on Daufuskie Island, one of the best-kept secrets on the Eastern coast of the United States.

What makes this property unique

The gorgeous Blue Fuskie Cottage is located on one of the best-kept secrets on the eastern coasts: Daufuskie Island. Your home overlooks 2 miles of pristine, quiet beaches where all you can hear is the sound of gentle waves and beautiful shore birds. Watch the shrimp boats, bike along the beach, take a Historic tour and discover the Gullah History of Daufuskie or take in a round of golf. Don't forget to try our island delicacy, deviled crabs! Better still, we'll help arrange a full low-country dinner prepared by a local resident to be delivered directly to your cottage.

Daufuskie has several unique and colorful restaurants where you'll swear you're in the middle of the Caribbean, as well as the casual but upscale Eagle's Nest at Bloody Point.

History buffs will enjoy exploring the island and visiting various sites providing a glimpse into the past, including the recently-restored Oyster House used as a 19th century Gullah meeting place, the Billie Burns Museum, ancient cemeteries, and the two-room school house where renowned author Pat Conroy taught and which was the subject of his first book, The Water is Wide.

Those interested in unique shopping opportunities will want to visit the Iron Fish Art Gallery, the Silver Dew Pottery, Wine and Woodworks, and the Daufuskie Rum Company. And you certainly don't want to miss the Daufuskie Island Community Farm, where old and young visitors alike are encouraged to help feed the chickens and even to try milking a goat!
