About this property

Charming, roomy 1 bedroom apartment in Historic Downtown Cartersville

This apartment is in the heart of historic downtown Cartersville! We offer a comfortable home base for travelers, families and couples, just steps away from all the shops, restaurants, and weekend activities our downtown has to offer! This space boasts a cozy, serene living room with a fully functional kitchen. A separate bedroom with its own bathroom faces the back of the building, with access to a small, sunny deck. Just 5 miles from Lakepoint, and a 7 minute walk to the Booth Museum!

Please note that this building is close to the train tracks, and you will definitely hear the train. The town of Cartersville exists because of the train, and it comes through the middle of downtown regularly, half a block away from this apartment. We have been promised a 'quiet zone' by the end of the year, so that it is in the works - for now - expect to hear the train in your unit.
It is also above a family friendly soda fountain, which, depending on the day and time of year, may close at 9 or 10pm. Every attempt at sound-canceling has been done with the flooring and construction, but it is possible you may hear sounds from below. The hallway is more noticeable, but within the apartments the sound is minimal and muted.

Our building dates from the mid 19th century with The Jerks, a Victorian-themed old fashioned soda fountain, located on the main floor. An extensive restoration was completed in January 2025, saving the original cast iron storefront, repointing all brick, and updating all electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to modern standards and code. Above the commercial space are apartments that are accessed via their own secure entrance to a private stairwell leading upstairs.

This apartment has its own full kitchen, washer/dryer, king size bed, and 65" smart TV's in the living room and bedroom. Internet access is via our city's fiber-optic network, which is only available to downtown businesses, and guests access it via a dedicated wi-fi mesh network. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to microwave a quick bite, make a pot of coffee, or cook a cozy meal for yourself. The two-door refrigerator has filtered water and an ice dispenser in the door, the stove features induction cook-tops and a full size oven, and there is a full size dishwasher.

The living room is spacious and has high ceilings, with a 65 inch smart TV, cozy sofa, reading chairs, a small table to eat or work at, and a fully-functional kitchen. Natural light comes through a high window in the living room, and there's plenty of ambient lamplight. The bedroom also has its own 65 inch smart TV - all TVs are set up with automatic guest log-out of all your streaming accounts on the day you check out. The bathroom is located off the bedroom with a tall shower and with optional detachable handhold. A shared deck is accessible from the bedroom.

Please note: in the bedroom, the right side of the bed is located very close to the washer/dryer. We really wanted to provide a king-sized bed for our guests, and to do so, we had to sacrifice some space on the right side. However, there is enough room to open the washing machine, as it does not need to open all the way to be functional.
