About this property
Charming farmhouse on 200+ acre horse farm and wildlife rehabilitation facility
This historic (c.1872) farmhouse in Roxbury features original pinewood paneling, hand-hewn beams and fieldstone foundation. Farmhouse is called Beaver Lodge because we are a licensed wildlife rehabilitation facility that specializes in beavers. We also feature farmstays, with opportunities for horseback riding/horse experience either on miles of bridle trails (200+ acres) or in our indoor riding arena. Farmhouse has been completely updated and renovated: all new flooring, all new appliances (dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, microwave), all new electrical wiring (Fire Marshal approved!), new windows, new queen size bed, and new shower stall. Washer/dryer, TV, WiFi, coffeemaker/keurig, hair dryer, iron and full-size ironing board also available. Central forced air heating. Air Conditioning in living room and bedroom. Powerwall provides backup power even when utility goes out! Living room window/bar looks out on horse pastures, while dining room and bathroom windows look out on meadows and forest where deer and turkeys roam! Owners live on site and are available to answer questions/concerns.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Roxbury - John & Laura are charming hosts and fascinating personalities. The cozy house is located on a secluded dirt road in the mountains, but only 20 minutes from groceries, restaurants, coffee, etc.. The kitchen was well stocked and many of the appliances were brand new. Wifi worked great. The 4 horses in the nearby barn were delightful and pleasant company while having morning coffee and at the end of the day. We really enjoyed our stay and hope we can return soon!
