• The "Ohia" accommodation (Main house) can sleep up to six guests It has a large living room with extra high ceilings, an exceptionally well equipped kitchen, large dining area, and two sleeping wings separated from each other for privacy. The principal bedroom wing has a king-sized bed with outdoor patio access, a large, private bathroom with plentiful cabinetry, double sinks, and a walk-in, curved-wall shower. The second wing has a large bedroom with a queen=sized bed, a study with room for children, together with a large bathroom with walk-in shower. This wing also has direct access to the large covered outside patio. The yard and laundry facilities are shared with a smaller guest house behind the main house that may be rented separately with up to 4 guests. See VRBO 817032.
• Large living room with 16 foot ceilings, an exceptionally well designed large kitchen, convenient eating area large enough for everyone, a master bedroom wing with King Bed and luxury linens that is delightful, and two other well equipped rooms, with Queen Bed in one room, plus a study with two beds. Also, two well equipped fully tiled bathrooms, both with large walk in showers.
• Large covered entertaining areas (patios) with extensive outdoor seating and dining area.
• Fully landscaped acre with many varieties of palms, heavenly-scented gardenia and other flowering plants, and a small orchard with orange, lemon, lime and avocado trees (in season). Located on quiet, dead end road, nestled behind private gated entry with native Ohia trees and wild orchids.
• Convenient to:
o Hilo shopping, restaurants and services
o Nearby Keaau and Pahoa towns for: farmer's markets, cafes and restaurants
o 2018 Kilauea lava flow; Kalapana historical lava flow; Volcano National Park; Richardson Beach (whales in season)
o Safe beach for small children, free local zoo; botanical gardens
o Walking/running/cycling on some 100 miles of well packed private gravel or cinder roads in the subdivision, with all main roads paved. Are you training for a run, bike race or triathlon? Lots of opportunities to train here!
o Free swimming most days at Pahoa and Hilo in large community pools with life guards.

(B) Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with a residential area.
(C) Guest vehicles shall be parked in the designated onsite parking area (gravel parking area).
(D) The STVR shall not be used for commercial purposes.

We fell in love with the Big Island in 2000 and built Hale E Komo Mai in 2011. Now we are building new memories with our family, friends, and especially our grandchildren. We look forward to coming back to Hawaii each year while continuing to explore this vast and beautifully diverse island.
Why they chose this property
We are excited to share our 'impractical dream' with you, with a relaxing home to return to after a full day of activities and exploring. You will be surrounded by lush, tropical vegetation and a peaceful neighborhood. We looked at many areas on the Big Island and chose Hawaiian Paradise Park for its acreage that provides quiet and privacy, while still being central to the ocean, trails, parks, restaurants and nearby shopping.
What makes this property unique
A unique and modern home designed with covered walkways that connect all areas. Impressive lava rock columns, circular planter with seating, and an outstanding outdoor shower were all hand shaped by a local craftsman. The home maximizes light and captures the trade winds and breezes, with sweet scents drifting indoors from the professionally landscaped gardens. The home is large, yet very comfortable for a couple or a large family. The grassed yard is great for the kids to play, to have a game of bocce ball or croquet, or to just relax on the lounge chairs while enjoying all the tropical trees, fruit trees and scented plants and flowers.
