About this property
Historic District Hidden Gem. The Best Location.
Steps away from museums and tourist attractions as well as the famous Mercado del Puerto and the port terminal that connects with Buenos Aires.
With everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Very spacious and sunny with roof-to-floor windows leading onto a pedestrian street. The building has access to the rooftop with barbecue where you can cook your own "asado".
The apartment is located in one of the most beautiful and ancient areas of Montevideo, right where three pedestrian streets converge and where a special and festive atmosphere is lived. It is a second floor by stairs. The marble staircase is spacious and original from the 19th century.
We opted for an eclectic decoration, mixing mid-century modern with contemporary and functionary design. You will enjoy an original pair of "Florence Knoll” sofas or lie down on a Le Corbusier Lounge Chair. Pieces of art are all over the place, from local and foreign artists.
The beds are very comfortable with high density mattress and can be prepared in king or single size. The kitchen has all the necessary elements for cooking: coffee maker, electric jug, toaster, microwave, stove and refrigerator. There is a Bose music system that allows you to charge the phone while listening to your favorite playlist. The studio, 55 m2/600 is spacious allowing areas to be well defined. The bathroom is roomy and bright with a bathtub and everything you may need: towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryer.
On the top floor there is a laundry area with washing machine and dryer for common use. From there you can access the roof terrace where there is a barbecue that guests can use to prepare a traditional "asado". From the roof terrace you have a spectacular view of the Montevideo Bay, the Customs Building and the Cerro de Montevideo with its fortress.

About the host
Hosted by Maria Veronica Correa

Hello, my name is María Verónica Correa. Everyone tells me Verónica.
I grew up in the interior of the country. At the age of 17 I came to Montevideo to study and here I married and formed my family.
I received as a journalist and worked in several written media. I love to write and read.
I also worked in two multinationals in areas of communication and marketing. This allowed me to learn a lot in other areas.
In all my works, what I enjoyed the most was the possibility to meet people, to know about their lives, their projects and their talents.
I currently work as a freelance journalist and communications and marketing consultant.
I came to HomeAway as a user. I love traveling with my family and since we are 5 members, the most convenient option was always HomeAway. Being a host now puts me on the other side, I hope I can apply all the things I learned by using this system.
I am one of those who writes on TripAdvisor about every place I go to. I always read the comments that other travelers leave. I think this kind of things help us improve and provide a better service.
We have two dogs and we have just adopted a cat.
I love music of all kinds, cooking, dancing ballet, taking care of plants and spending time with family.
I enjoyed the apartment very much. I hope you enjoy it as much as I planned it. In every thing I chose I put my heart and also tried to see how I would feel if I were traveling.
You will find books about Uruguay, Montevideo guides, maps and some other tips that can help you to know the city.
I hope you find everything you need for a perfect stay.

Why they chose this property
The apartment, housed in a 19th century building, is located in the first neighborhood of Montevideo. There began the history of our country. A key point for trade with Europe, from the port began the construction of the rest of the city. This is why the historic center is a must see for all tourists. Not knowing the "Ciudad Vieja" is not knowing Montevideo. Architecture, design, art, music, smells and flavors coexist in this area giving it a unique and peculiar personality.
