Great privacy to sit out on the porch and enjoy the night sky and have it all to yourself. Owners were very responsive to any questions including where they recommend eating :) Very close to Cheaha. We enjoyed our stay
We enjoyed our stay at this charming historic cottage in Anniston. The property was very private and we were even able to explore the wooded 20 acre property. Carolyn also made our little ones some delicious cookies, which our kids gobbled down in no time!

Thanks Nicole! We loved having you and your children here from one of our favorite cities, Mobile! So happy you enjoyed your stay here. Do come again😊😊
We enjoyed having Melissa and her friends. The beds in both bedrooms are antique Double beds, just as it says in the description of the cottage. But the second bedroom also has a single bed. If the guests are larger people and not comfortable sleeping together in a double sized bed then one one of them might sleep in the singular daybed. The Living Room has two sofas so there are actually plenty of places to be comfortable. So happy you got to come, Melissa, as I was worried about that!
My husband and my 3 young adult kids stayed in this beautiful 18 th century cottage over the Thanksgiving Weekend because we were visiting family that was local. There was plenty of room. Beautiful view of the mountains from the front porch. So peaceful.

Tammy, you were such a joy to have in our cottage, so nice and so appreciative of the beauty of this very historic cottage in Anniston. What a wonderful family you all are. I would never give you anything but true 5 stars in every category! Thanks for staying and please return.
Carolyn was very nice and helpful. The house is very old and needs attention.

I’m quite disappointed, Sean, in your response as I had given you 5 stars to be kind as I liked you. You had, in your VRBO guest sheet written that you had 2 adults and 0 children, and yet you came with 5 children. That would be 7 people to sleep in our cottage when it says clearly that we have room for 5. Old? Yes, our Cottage is old…….historic actually………..1882………….one of the oldest homes in Anniston, built by the town’s founder, Samuel Noble, for the artist who came to paint the portrait of Anniston’s landscape to both sketch his painting in and to live in. It has wonderful history and charm. And, I do believe that it is decorated to almost perfection with beautiful furnishings and art. It may be best for you to only stay in new homes as older homes cannot be without some flaws. They are no longer new. I’m sorry too that you decided to leave a day early as your son’s baseball team had lost and were then out of the tournament. You had already paid for your stay so that was between you and VRBO. I had been baking you cookies for your last night’s stay when you left early. Life goes on, but I would ask you to look more carefully at your place of stay and make sure that you don’t choose a place that you might call old. It can’t suit you. But, do please, be honest in giving the details of how many will actually be staying with you. That’s only fair to the owners.
My husband and I stayed for two nights. We were meet with typical southern hospitality of which included homemade chocolate chip cookies. The couple were very friendly and check in with is often. We enjoyed our stay as dis our two mini Australian shepherds. They loved the open land to explore and sniff.. Thank you. Shawn and Jackie.

Thanks Jackie. Do come back………..we’d love to have you😊
We truly enjoyed our stay at The Artist Cottage! It became our home “away from home” as some repairs were being made on our own home. The historic cottage is nestled in a beautiful and serene nature setting and is exactly as listed, lovingly filled with beautiful furnishings ensuring that it is keeping true to its historic nature. Carolyn and Bob were such gracious hosts and made sure that we had everything that we needed during our stay, and we were treated with simply the best homemade chocolate chip cookies! It was exactly what we were looking for.

The perfect guests………I just loved you! Thanks very much for choosing our Artist Cottage for your home-away-from-home! I don’t want anything else to happen with needed repairs to your home, but I will hope to see you yet again some day. 🦜
Carolyn and her husband were wonderful hosts! The cottage was clean and stocked with what we needed. Carolyn made us cookies upon arrival, and we were able to go nextdoor and have an amazing breakfast at their BnB as her guests had all left the previous day.
We came to Anniston on short notice and were pleasantly surprised to find this home. It was perfect for our group, nice, cozy, and private. Great location to grocery stores and dining. Carolyn and Bob were so helpful in answering questions and making our stay perfect!
The cottage is a beautiful, well-appointed "home-away-from-home". My family stayed there during a very stressful move recently. The cottage was homey and very comfortable. We didn't want for anything. The owner's were very gracious and accommodating. We loved every minute of our time there and highly recommend it. Thank you so much Carolyn and Bob!

We located from the Hilton Head area of South Carolina to be between our two grown children. We found this very unique, historic, elegant, and very beautiful property on the internet, went to see it, fell in love, and purchased it. After three years of renovations and care we decided to open the home and cottage to others to come stay as well. It's a treat!
Why they chose this property
It's privacy and beauty are hard to find elsewhere.
What makes this property unique
