About this property

Historic 1855 farmhouse close to concert venue

It has been a dream for a long time to purchase an old farmhouse and restore it. That dream came true this year! We have put our heart and soul into renovating this beautiful 1855 house! Only 10 minutes away from the Maine savings amphitheater, you can be close to the concerts, but be in a safer area than Bangor. Step back into the 1950s and a simpler time with our neighborhood, where you will hear the friendly chatter and laughter of neighbors, walking their dogs and playing with their children, truly a peaceful retro feel to this beautiful historic neighborhood! With all the character of a beautiful old home, but with all the modern amenities, this is a wonderful place for a girls trip, or a family weekend away! Enjoy, peaceful sun filled mornings, listening to the chirping of the birds and watch the squirrels and chipmunks play. We even have a resident fox that lives, outback! Truly, a peaceful, beautiful escape from city life for every day schedules! If you do need to work while you are away from home, we have several very peaceful places, including our 30 foot long porch, where you can have a beautiful view of the kids playing and watch nature while getting some work done in your rocking chair, drinking some lemonade! This is an owner occupied property, however, you will have the entire floor plan of the bottom floor of the house, including your own laundry, full bathroom, full kitchen, full living room, full entryway, and full private 30 foot porch! Free parking on the premises, we do just ask your absolute help that there is no smoking or drug use of absolutely any kind, as we have children who are very sensitive and have respiratory issues to any kind of smoke use. We cannot wait to share our beautiful property with you that we have worked tirelessly on renovating!

About the host

Both my husband and I were born in Maine, but we love to travel and we have moved around quite a bit! My childhood was visiting my grandparents in a beautiful big farm house and it was our dream to purchase one at some point and be able to renovate it ourselves. This dream came true this year in 2025 and we are so excited to share it with you all!

Why they chose this property

We actually laughed when we moved in. Almost every neighbor on the street showed up with homemade baked goods, homemade jam, their phone numbers in case we needed help, and we couldn’t believe we were in modern time! The feel of this neighborhood is definitely of an older time, where people still wanted to be neighbors and be friendly and be helpful to each other. All day you can hear the chatter of friendly neighbors going by the windows and it truly is a sense of community.

What makes this property unique

Our house was built in 1855, you will see around the house, beautiful treasures, and the original beams exposed in the living room! Just thinking of all the history that has happened in the past 174 years in this one house brings a smile of curiosity.
