About this property

Exclusive villa near Preikestolen – 1-acre garden and English greenhouse

This spacious detached villa is set within a private 4,000 m² garden estate, just 25 minutes from the world-famous Preikestolen trailhead. With 288 m² of living space spread over three floors, it’s the perfect getaway for families, groups of friends, or anyone seeking a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature.

Inside, you’ll find 5 inviting bedrooms, two cozy lounges (including a bright loft living area), and a fully equipped kitchen with a large dining area and open-hearth fireplace. The villa also features two bathrooms, a laundry room, three fireplaces, a walk-in cold room (5°C) ideal for extended stays or gourmet cooking, and a secondary utility kitchen with cabinets and a double sink.

Step outside into a magical garden shaded by centuries-old oak trees. Children can swing from hand-crafted oak branches or test their balance on a slackline strung between the trees. A gentle stream flows through the grounds, and winding garden paths lead to hidden seating spots, a classic English greenhouse where you’re welcome to pick fresh tomatoes and herbs, and charming sculptures and fountains.

As evening falls, the oaks, fountains, and garden art are softly illuminated, creating an enchanting atmosphere.
The area beneath the oak trees is a serene and shaded haven – an idyllic spot for yoga, meditation, or simply unwinding with the sounds of nature.

Additional outdoor features include a spacious pergola, several dining areas, a boat in the nearby marina (just a 6-minute walk away), and a tranquil garden room perfect for reading, dining, or yoga. Private parking is available for multiple cars.

Whether you’re hiking to Preikestolen or simply relaxing under ancient oaks, this villa offers a rare balance of comfort, space, and natural beauty.

About the host

Hosted by Rune Eie

Host profile image
I grew up just five minutes from the villa, in a small village called Fiskå. Today I live nearby with my little family of three – and our friendly English cocker spaniel, Poppy. I love trail running in the surrounding mountains and spending time in nature. Being a host brings me real joy, and I always do my very best to make sure every guest has a great stay. We also host a popular apartment in Tau, where all 24 guests so far have given us 5 stars – something we're very proud of!

Why they chose this property

The area around the villa is peaceful and green, surrounded by forested hills, grazing farmland, and quiet walking trails. We love the stillness in the mornings – birdsong, the sound of the stream, and a cup of coffee under the oak trees. The sunsets here are magical, and at night, the garden lights bring the whole property to life in a calm, atmospheric way. It's the perfect base for exploring Preikestolen, Lysefjord, and the surrounding nature – but also ideal for just staying put and enjoying the calm.

What makes this property unique

The majestic oak trees in the garden – they’re truly one of a kind. The large covered outdoor areas let you enjoy nature even in the rain, and the greenhouse and stream running through the property add a peaceful, magical touch.
