2/10 Terrible

Unfortunately, my experience here was far from positive. From the moment we arrived, we were hit with a strong odor—like old, wet wood—and had to walk through actual spider webs just to find a light source, only to realize there were barely any lights, especially in the living area. When we used flashlights to look around, we found bugs (dead and alive), dirt, dust, hair, and more cobwebs throughout the unit. We had to clean the refrigerator, shower, tables, and stove ourselves just to feel comfortable using them—definitely not something we expected after paying a significant amount to stay there. I spent that first night trying to reach Vrbo’s customer support, but the platform kept glitching. I lost connection with reps multiple times and had to restart conversations repeatedly. They also asked me to email photo evidence in JPG format, so I had to convert the files. Communication was poor, and even the next day I kept getting notifications that led back to the same unresolved chat thread. Once I finally got in touch with the host, she said she was confused about why Vrbo contacted her, and claimed a cleaner had stopped by but we said we were fine. To clarify, a woman did come by, but she didn’t identify herself as a cleaner. When she asked my boyfriend if everything was okay, he thought she was referring to a fire alarm he had accidentally triggered while cooking and she didn’t give any indication that she was asking/offering to clean. Overall stay away.
