This classic Northwoods cabin is set on a heavily wooded lot with 150 feet of private shoreline on crystal-clear Ham Lake, offering a peaceful, family-friendly setting that’s ideal for slowing down and spending time together.
Lake & Outdoor Living
Ham Lake is known for its exceptionally clear water and quiet atmosphere. Because there is no public boat access, the lake remains calm and uncrowded, making it especially enjoyable for swimming, paddling, fishing, and relaxing by the water.
Guests have access to a private dock with a bench, a favorite place for fishing, stargazing, or simply sitting and taking in the lake. The cabin provides a variety of lake equipment, including kayaks, a stand-up paddleboard, rafts, a diving platform, and a rowboat-style fishing boat with a trolling motor.
A large wraparound deck overlooking the lake creates space for meals, morning coffee, and long afternoons outside. The covered portion of the deck allows you to stay outdoors during light rain or warm summer days. A firepit near the woods above the lake offers a quiet, natural spot for evening fires and conversation.
Inside the Cabin
Inside, the cabin is comfortable, well maintained, and thoughtfully arranged for families and multi-generational groups. The layout includes two bedrooms plus an open loft, along with shared living spaces that work well for meals, games, and relaxing after a day on the lake.
The kitchen is well stocked for preparing family meals, and the cabin includes games and indoor activities for downtime.
Location & Area
One of the advantages of this cabin is its accessibility. Ham Lake is approximately two hours from the Minneapolis metro, making it well suited for long weekends and shorter getaways.
The surrounding area offers quiet country roads for biking, nearby mountain bike trails, and easy access to ATV trails in summer and snowmobile trails in winter, providing year-round recreation beyond the lake.

We had a great stay! The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We came up with another couple for our final UTV ride of the season and couldn’t have asked for a better location or weather. We started each morning with coffee on the front deck, and it was incredibly peaceful. Steve was great and very easy to communicate with, which we appreciated. We’d absolutely stay here again!

Thank you Annie, we appreciate your stay and review and are glad you enjoyed our cabin. You were a pleasure to interact with. Please come stay with us again next time you are in NW Wisconsin!
Steve has taken great care in making the cabin feel peaceful, cozy, welcoming, and fully stocked. We had everything we needed to cook our meals, play games, relax to the fireplace with chats, a good book, or a movie. We've stayed at many places and this one by far had the most comfortable furniture. We loved the beautiful lake views through the trees and we even saw The Northern Lights. Steve was quick to respond when we had a question and resolved it immediately. We'd stay here again and bring our tiny humans next time because there are plenty of beds to fit us all. Thanks Steve for providing a wonderful cabin for our "Sisterfest" weekend!

Thank you for your stay and your amazing review!! We really appreciate both! If we ever decide to create a brochure for our cabin rental, I think I will just copy/paste your review! Thank you so much and do come back and stay with us again some time!!
What a wonderful place to stay for Labor Day weekend! There were 6 of us total which seemed to a good amount for the size of the cabin. There are extra beds up in the loft but 2 main bedrooms with comfortable beds and & bedding/towels. We loved the coziness of the cabin that had everything we needed. Because you are up on the hill by the lake, it almost feels like the cabin is in the trees which is fun. We loved the large deck that wraps around the cabin with plenty of seating and the gas grill for quick and easy cooking. We enjoyed some campfires and heard the loons one evening from the lake. Kitchen and living room has open concept so great for hanging out as a family. My boys had a blast using the small row boat with trolling motor and fishing off the dock. They caught tons of small bass and a few big one (3lb and 4lb) and 38" Pike. The lake was nice a clear. One thing to keep in mind is the stairs down to the lake, which was fine for most of us young folks, but grandma needed a little help to get up and down. Steve was so great to work with when we had questions and he even came out to fix a beeping noise, wow, what service. Highly recommend this for your next get away.

About the host
Hosted by Steve Webb
We built this cabin on Ham Lake more than 20 years ago as a place for our family to gather and spend time outdoors. For many years it was a hub of summer activity — swimming, lake days, evenings on the deck, and time together away from everyday routines.
As our kids have grown and now have busy families of their own, the cabin isn’t used as frequently as it once was. When we’re not there, we’ve chosen to share it with guests who appreciate the same things that drew us to Ham Lake in the first place: clear water, quiet surroundings, fresh air, and time together in a natural setting.
This has always been a family cabin first, and we take pride in caring for it accordingly. Our goal is to offer a comfortable, well-maintained place that feels welcoming, relaxed, and thoughtfully set up for families and groups looking to unplug and enjoy the lake.
Why they chose this property
Ham Lake offers exactly what we were looking for when we built the cabin — and what keeps bringing us back year after year. The lake is known for its crystal-clear water, quiet setting, and relaxed pace that makes it easy to truly unwind.
Because Ham Lake has no public boat access, it remains especially peaceful and private. Boat traffic is minimal, the water stays clear, and the shoreline retains its natural feel. It’s a great setting for swimming, paddling, fishing, and enjoying the lake without crowds or noise.
The area feels tucked away and secluded, surrounded by tall trees and fresh air, yet it’s still easy to reach. Nights are truly dark, with clear views of the stars, and days are often filled with lake time, wildlife sightings, and long stretches of calm.
It’s the kind of place where you can unplug, spend meaningful time together, and feel far removed from the noise of the city — even if you’re only here for a long weekend.
What makes this property unique
The wraparound deck is one of the most distinctive features of the cabin and gives parts of the outdoor space a true treehouse feel. The open sections of the deck face the lake and are great for enjoying sunshine, fresh air, and lake views. The covered portion of the deck offers a comfortable place to relax during light rain or hot afternoons, surrounded by trees and the sounds of nature.
The cabin’s outdoor spaces are designed for spending time outside throughout the day. The firepit is tucked near the woods above the lake, creating a quiet, natural setting that’s ideal for evening fires and conversation.
Down by the water, the private dock with a bench is a favorite place for fishing, stargazing, or simply sitting by the lake. To make the most of Ham Lake’s clear, calm water, the cabin includes a variety of lake toys and water gear, including kayaks, a stand-up paddleboard, a rowboat-style fishing boat with a trolling motor, floaties, and a diving raft.
Together, the setting, outdoor spaces, and lake access create a relaxed northwoods experience that feels natural, comfortable, and thoughtfully cared for — a place designed for enjoying the lake rather than just staying near it.
