Yakoun Loft blends rustic charm with modern comfort in a home-style space — perfect for a peaceful, relaxing getaway. Thoughtfully designed and just minutes from trails, village shops, and the water, it’s a welcoming base to explore the beauty of Haida Gwaii. Yakoun Loft is the perfect base to explore the island’s rich culture and breathtaking natural beauty.

The loft features a restful, cozy sleeping area and a welcoming living room with a futon (which can double as extra bedding). Enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi and a TV with Netflix, Roku and others for your entertainment. The private bathroom includes a hair dryer, bath essentials, and the added convenience of an in-suite washer and dryer.

The kitchenette is equipped with the basics for simple meal preparation — including a mini fridge, microwave, electric stove, kettle, toaster oven and a coffee maker-perfect for starting your mornings right. Dishware and utensils are provided to make your stay convenient.

The loft is within easy walking distance — just 2 to 5 minutes on foot — from Axe & Anchor Pub (Beach View Restaurant), Buck Snort Bakery, Bayview Market, the beach (1 to 2 minutes), and scenic trails.
It’s also just a 2 to 3 minute drive to Angela's Place Social Cafe and Fuel Station.

Guest Access:
While the loft is located on the same property as our main house, it’s fully self-contained with its own private entrance up 12 steps. You’ll have the entire space to yourself, including your own entrance and designated guest parking.

We value a peaceful, quiet environment, so you can expect a calm and restful stay—with full privacy throughout.

Note:
Maximum guest total is 3. However young families are welcome. If you’re bringing children, just message us — we’re happy to see if the space can work for your family and adjust the booking if needed.

Check in was easy. The online pictures are accurate. It was a very comfortable place to stay. We liked having our own laundry facility, and a full kitchen. The street was quiet, an easy walk to water and the nearby pub for meals. I'd recommend this to anyone. The hostess, Cath, was very helpful, and even did a trip with us showing us the northern popular spots to visit, and a market that was happening one day. We really enjoyed Port Clements, and this accommodation.

This property is centrally located with many sites within easy driving distance on Haida Gwaii. A nearby wharf is within walking distance, great for an evening stroll. The Loft is quiet, and the kitchenette has enough amenities to cook meals and prepare lunches. Having the washer and dryer is a bonus! The shower is full size. The owner, Cath, is available to answer any questions and is there to help. The loft is suitable for a couple or 2 friends with a separate bedroom and a futon as a second bed. A friend and I stayed for 4 days. We were very pleased with the Loft. Please note, there are stairs to climb up to the Loft, so you must be mobile enough to climb stairs each day. Since we are quite active, this posed no problem for us. I would certainly stay at the Loft if I ever visit Haida Gwaii again!

It's located in the heart of Port Clements — just a short walk to everything you might need: the post office, restaurants like Axe & Anchor Pub or Buck Snort Bakery, and the Bayview Market for essentials. Even though it’s central, the neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, making it a relaxing place to stay.

One thing I really enjoy about living here is the easy access to nature. I love going for walks or light jogs along the nearby trails, and the beach is just close enough for a quick visit when I need a breath of fresh air or a quiet moment by the water. It’s a small town with a calming pace and lots of natural charm — perfect for unwinding or exploring at your own rhythm.

The loft was designed and built by my husband as part of our home, with care and craftsmanship in every detail — from the warm wood finishes to the cozy layout.
