Very Adorsble house, the decorations are very well thought out. And loved the backyard for my dogs.It was very dark in the house. More lighting would be nice. But overall we all enjoyed it very much.

We’ve stayed here a couple times before, and it’s been great each time. This time there were no extra paper towels, and there were not enough wash cloths for the number of guests the listing says they host. Otherwise, it was another great stay.

This location was cute and cozy. The back yard for our young pup was a great bonus. We enjoyed our stay and will visit again when we come that way. The host was great with communication and very friendly.

This is an adorable little cottage with much more room than expected. Great kitchen, comfy bed, made us feel right at home. Would love to come back and enjoy the porch and backyard in nicer weather. Adam was very helpful, and the property is conveniently located.

I was hoping to leave a better review but - it didn't start well when I had to ask for the Check-In Door Codes 2 hours before we were scheduled to arrive, and then, when we did arrive, the house had not been cleaned. Wet towels on the floor in the bathroom, beds unmade from the previous guests, trash. Now, I will say Adam responded immediately and sent a cleaning crew out at 8:30pm that same evening, but his comment of a refund or discount did not happen. We did miss our Reservation for my Birthday Dinner, we had door-dash deliver and watched the cleaners tidy up. House is super cute, the bed was very comfy, and our Pups Loved the Big Back Yard.

Allison was a wonderful guest—kind, respectful, and a great communicator. It is difficult to receive this review, especially after more than 121 check-ins across Vrbo and other rental platforms and two years of five-star reviews. That said, Allison is correct: the home was not clean when she arrived, and I sincerely apologize. We later learned that our cleaner had been in a serious car accident. As soon as Allison contacted me, I called the cleaning company, and another cleaner arrived within about 30 minutes. I also told Allison that, given the inconvenience, I would refund her entire stay. I submitted the refund through Vrbo, but it appears it did not process. I will follow up with Vrbo to make sure she receives it. We take great pride in our guest experience and customer service. While an unexpected emergency caused this situation, Allison deserved a clean home when she arrived. We would love the opportunity to welcome her back. She was an absolute pleasure to host.

The adorable barn was just what we hoped for!! There was plenty of parking and the home was so tastefully and creatively decorated. Wonderful beds! VERY quiet. Adam was easy and fun to communicate with and my dog thoroughly enjoyed that fenced in backyard! Plenty of TV/movie options, even a couple of board games in cards. Adam provided snacks drinks in the fridge and everything you needed to cook on his outdoor grill. A lighted patio was especially warm and inviting as the sunset! I highly recommend and will come back again as I travel between Florida and Maine.

First of all, I have to say that I have booked many places in my travels. The Whimsical Barn is one of our favorites. Eclectic, comfortable and roomy, it was the perfect setting for the first leg of our annual summer trip to the OBX. It was super clean, well-appointed, and oh so charming. It was like staying in a quaint and rustic farm environment in the middle of suburbia. The coffee station was wonderful and the snacks were a welcome and gracious touch. The decorations were very well thought out; the backyard was perfect for grilling and relaxation; and the porch with the Fooseball table was just delightful for morning coffee. Perfect for parents and pet parents alike, we could not have felt more at home. Now, let's talk about the host. Talk about top-notch. Not only instantly communicative, Adam was extremely kind and responsive to our every need. Honestly, if I could give him 10 stars, I would. If you want a home-away-from home experience with an excellent host, stay here. You won't regret it, but you will remember it. Thanks, Adam, for making our stay exceptional.
