This private, forested 3BR/2BA retreat is a gorgeous spot year-round that sleeps six guests. With quick access to Squaw Valley Ski Resort, Lake Tahoe, and Tahoe City, you'll find no shortage of beaches, culture, and outdoor sports nearby. Walk to Sunnyside and Hurricane Bay beach access for plenty of fun. This cabin unlike, any on the western shore, was recently renovated with new carpet, new lighting, new furnishings, among other upgrades. It is great for romantic retreats, couples' getaways, and family vacations alike!

On the bottom level, you'll find the primary bedroom with queen-size bed and 70" smart TV. The washer/dryer and primary bathroom are also on this level, with your own stone tile walk-in shower.

Upstairs, you'll find the main living, dining, and kitchen area with gleaming wood floors. A 65" flat-screen TV hangs near the dining table, so you can watch from the table or the sectional sofa across the room. The built-in mini-bar (with wine fridge) and a Sonus speaker system throughout the house are clever extras. The open, U-shaped kitchen is well-appointed with stainless steel GE Profile/KitchenAid appliances, a gas range, a French press for coffee lovers, and a fryer. The black stone countertops are elegant, and there's also a breakfast bar with counter seating. Down the hall from the kitchen are the two guest rooms, each featuring queen-size beds (both have a 55" TV). The shared and newly remodeled guest bathroom has a tub/shower combination. Through the living room, there's a front deck with a gas grill and seating to dine or keep warm by the gas fire pit.

The clear, calm waters of Hurricane Bay on Lake Tahoe are just a 10-minute walk from your door! Hikers, bikers, and swimmers will find no shortage of gorgeous spots to explore here, with Tahoe State Recreation Area just a few blocks away. It's an easy trip into town, only a 1.4-mile bike ride to groceries at West Shore Market, or perhaps have a meal at Spoon. If you're here for the skiing, you're in luck! A 20-minute drive will take you to either Squaw Valley, Homewood Mountain, or Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. In the summer, horseback riding, river rafting, or kayaking will call you. Whenever you visit, the world is your oyster here by Lake Tahoe.

Comfortable for 6 adults
This is a nice, comfortable home. Easy to relax there. Our bed downstairs was extremely comfy, but frame was broken, tilting bed a bit down at the head. We adjusted and it was fine. The balcony chairs, gas fire pit were really nice to have. We didn't use the hot tub. Wish the dining table had four chairs and with six, we sat in 3 places to eat together. Wi fi was great. VRBO map placed house location in Sunnyside and we booked because of that. Later realizing it's in Hurricane Bay. That was a terrible mistake by company. We should have looked up address after booking, but with months to go and our confidence from prior bookings/map accuracy, we waited until too late to change. That said, location isn't bad. It's a nice neighborhood, walk down to beach. Also, Vacasa had map correct, it was VRBO, who we booked with, that had it wrong. VACASA manages the property. We will now verify locations before booking.

Tahoe
Property was very nice. Great yard and the balcony with the fire pit was a plus. The Wi-Fi was very hit or miss the entire trip. The bear mat and wire around the house was very reassuring after seeing a bear rip through the garbage boxes along the street. Overall very satisfied with the property.

Family Trip
The location was lovely and it was easy to get where we wanted to go all around the lake. The neighbors were friendly and the area was perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee on the balcony in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. The kitchen was fairly well stocked for those that want to make their own meals during their stay.

Great Ski Chalet!
We had a fantastic time with 2 couples & 1 teenage daughter. Skiing/boarding at Palisades and Homewood, both great for this location. House was cozy and had everything we needed. Many local cafes & bakeries. One watch out: if there is snow, DO NOT drive up Sugar Pine Rd W. Lake Blvd - ONLY TAKE Timberland Lane. Google/apple maps does not default to Timberland so be alert! Sugar Pine is very steep & slippery in snow, but Timberland is a much gentler slope & the house is just as easily accessible that way. Hope this helps. Overall fantastic place & would highly recommended!

Subpar stay: disappointing experience, not as advertised
Overall, I was pretty disappointed with our stay at this property. The place was advertised as a premium stay, but it turned out to be quite subpar. The house was not as clean as we had hoped, with several dirty dishes and utensils still having food on them. The floors were also dirty, with crumbs and food remnants scattered around. On top of that, we had a lot of trouble making the dishwasher work. The barbeque was beyond filthy, and the empty propane tanks made it unusable. Moreover, the driveway had not been cleared before our arrival, and we had to shovel snow after dark to be able to park our car. This was quite an inconvenience and made our stay less enjoyable. The hot tub was advertised as a highlight of the property, but it was barely usable. It was covered in several feet of snow, and we had to climb stairs that were also covered in feet of snow and ice, making it pretty dangerous to use. The water also didn't seem to be clean. We were quite disappointed with this since we had looked forward to using it during our stay. Overall, the property was not up to the standard that was advertised. The lack of cleanliness, the unusable barbeque, and the issues with the hot tub made our stay less enjoyable than we had hoped. I would not recommend this place to others and would not stay here again.

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
