Ideal West Shore house with hot tub, wooded back yard, and luxury amenities
El Dorado County VHR Permit #072472. TOT #T62953
Tranquil house in quiet residential neighborhood. Ideal for families and small gatherings. This beautiful 2003 built home presents a combination of wood siding and slate, massive pine logs, and 20 foot vaulted ceilings. The entry opens to matching slate and a convenient powder room. The open floor plan invites you into the Living Room, Kitchen, Dining Area and gorgeous Slate Fireplace. Skylights in the living room and bedrooms provide natural light and views of the stars from bed. Bedrooms are carpeted and each has a ceiling fan for comfort in all seasons. The Home sleeps 8 people over 5 years old. Two of three bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. All bedrooms and living room outfitted with independently controlled video systems with complementary Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBOMax & Sling, so you can enjoy live TV, your favorite sports, or movies. Sonos multi-room sound system controlled by provided Android tablet. Stable & reliable 300Mbps cable internet service for remote work, 4K video & WiFi calling. Huge bunk room, an ideal hangout area especially for kids. The garage has room for 2 SUVs, and the large secluded backyard includes a 7 person hot tub, hammock and swinging lounge seat. Hickory Wood floors downstairs, with stainless steel appliances and knotty pine throughout. Reliable cellular reception. The neighborhood backs to Sugarpine Point State Park, with miles of singletrack hiking/biking trails heading into the backcountry. Around a 10 minute walk to Chambers public beach. Desolation Wilderness trailheads are accessible from Emerald Bay, a 15 minutes south. The Rubicon trailhead is 5 minutes north. The bike trail to the beach at Meeks Bay has been completed in 2019. You can ride continuous bike trail all the way to Tahoe City in the north and Meeks Bay in the south. A note about privacy- just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. We DO NOT have webcams or cameras of any kind anywhere on the property.
***Please note that if large gatherings (8+) and alcohol-fueled partying are in your plans, this is not the place for you. Our year-round neighbors won't tolerate loud parties and multiple cars parked on the street.***

Frequently asked questions
About the host
Hosted by John Lyons
The owners are Northern California natives and have been spending time in Tahoe all their lives. The house is operated by Wells & Bennett, a professional property management company located close to the house & with excellent attention to detail.
Why they chose this property
There's a saying, "The West Shore is the Best Shore". Tahoma is perfectly situated in some of the least developed shoreline of Tahoe, yet is centrally located. In winter, the house is 5 minutes from Homewood, 20 minutes from Squaw/Alpine, and 45 minutes from Heavenly. You can ski the entire Tahoe area. In summer, there are vast expanses of state park and national forest land, accessible within a short walk from the front door. Hiking and mountain biking options are great, & there are trails not widely known or crowded. There are great beaches in the area - Chambers Landing, Meeks Bay & DL Bliss are close. Tahoe City is under 15 minutes drive. Stateline and the casinos are about 40 minutes away. The West Shore is known for it's "old Tahoe" vibe.
What makes this property unique
Cathedral ceilings and tall slate fireplace plus warm wood detailing just make you feel good from the minute you walk in! Skylights throughout allow you to enjoy sunlight during the day and the stars at night. The large lot allows for privacy in a natural Tahoe setting. It's our happy place and we want all our guests to enjoy it!
