This cabin far exceeded my expectations. It was clean, comfortable, well-stocked and the view of the lake was incredible. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We loved our stay in beautiful and spacious home on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. The home is nestled in a quiet neighborhood with spectacular views and it's close to the lake and excellent hiking trails.
I don’t usually review my stays, but Dana and Daniel’s property is so special that I wanted to give a shout out. The home is impeccably clean and totally comfortable. The views of the lake are sublime , and we had a very relaxing stay. The location is close to Meeks Bay beach and Sunnyside where you can get an awesome home cooked dinner at Spoon. Fire Sign was great for breakfast. Dana was very accommodating and a great communicator. We loved our stay! Jane
This is a wonderful house in a great location the beds are comfortable. The views and the deck are fantastic. The host is incredibly gracious. We will be back. Thank you For everything.
The cabin had everything we needed. The best part was the location. There were beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The birds were delightful to watch and the stars at night were amazing. We hiked and kyaked, biked, and hiked some more. The lake is cold but so refreshing after a long hike.
This home is a gem. The location and views are spectacular. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the entire home is so throughtfully decorated. We felt we were in a moderniz Swiss Chalet. The Schneider's immediately texted back when we had a question, and were kind enough to let us check in early. We are hoping to return! Lake Tahoe and this home are magical.
Perfect family getaway on Tahoe West Shore with gorgeous view of the Lake!
Our family of 5 (boys 10-17) had a perfect stay at this well appointed cabin in July 2023. We woke to breathtaking sunrises and sipped hot chocolate while looking at the stars at night from the spacious decks. House was well stocked with all supplies, even a panini press & ice cream maker. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot to do all the fun things we wanted - hiking, kayaking, & boating. Close to everything on the west shore you’d need & only A shirt 20 min drive to south or north lake. Thank you for the wonderful stay! Highly highly recommend!!
This home was a perfect place for our family to stay during our visit to Lake Tahoe. We spent the majority of our time at the house relaxing, reading, playing Yahtzee, laughing, cooking and watching our 7 month old grandson. We all loved the house and great amenities.
Great Tahoe location and cabin! Would have been a Tahoe Blue view, but we had the fire and ash working against us the week we were there, but we managaed to do a lot of sightseeing around the entire lake and even got out on the lake one afternoon.
We had a great time staying at this cabin. Loved being so close to Meeks Bay and exploring all the nearby sites including Emerald Bay, DL Bliss and Tahoe City. The cabin was comfortable and clean.
We had such an amazing time at the Schneider's home! The setting is beautiful: views of the lake and the surrounding trees. It feels very secluded but not isolated. It's very also very quiet and we slept like logs. The whole home was was incredibly clean and comfortable and we really appreciated the small touches (toiletries, tape and scissors available in drawer, hand sanitizer, hiking books). We were initiaully concerned about the internet speed, but we called Dana and David and they responded immediately and have started the process of upgrading their network! We left before that was completed, but we were able to setup one of our phone as a hotspot and it worked very well. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. We hope to come stay again in the future!
We spent a weekend for a getaway at this beautiful cabin. Gorgeous views of Lake Tahoe.
Very nicely decorated and spacious. Kitchen well appointed.
Well prepared for any unwelcome bear visitors. All safety precautions in place. Owner was very responsive and welcoming. Will definitely stay there again.
We love the home and will definitely return again.
The location is perfect - perching on the hill facing the lake. At night, the sky is clear and sparkled with stars. Yoga on the deck with a view of sunrise on lake Tahoe is surreal . We had most our meals on the balcony to enjoy the changing sunlight on the forest and lake. We also went on daily hikes with the trail head within a few miles from home (my family had a wonderful time on their 16 mile hike from Meeks bay to Emerald bay)
The home is beautifully decorated and efficiently designed with high-end furniture/appliances; it is also well-stocked .
El Dorado County is not on the watch list for Covid 19 and thus shops and outdoor dining were not restricted!
Thank you Dana - you have been most accommodating and helpful . We are very appreciative for the opportunity to vacation at your home during this difficult time. We hope to be able to come back next summer.
A very beautiful house in the hills about 30 min south of Tahoe City. Huge windows with great views. The place feels secluded but is still close to everything. We loved having a fireplace thermostat. We snowboarded nearby at Homewood, which is just a few minutes away. We regret not having much time to stay. Communication and instructions from the owners were very good.
Our family just enjoyed five nights at this beautiful home. We couldn't have been happier with the location (close to Tahoe City/Truckee and the other way to South Lake Tahoe, and as it sits up on a hillside with the most amazing view from all the windows and deck. It is so nicely appointed and modern as well. Furniture was comfortable and condition was neat and clean. Dana was quick to reply to a few messages as well. Highly recommend!

About the host
Hosted by Dana Schneider
We purchased our home in 2009. We have been coming to the West Shore of Lake Tahoe for 45 years. We love to sit by the beach, hike, ski, and dig the snow off the bear box. Puzzles are an important part of every visit.
Why they chose this property
This side of the lake is peaceful, quaint with that old Tahoe feel. The location is close to all activities yet you feel away.
What makes this property unique
We love to make ice cream in the summer, watch the fireworks from our deck, get Tahoma Market sandwiches, and watch the stars from the deck.
We hope you have a great stay.
