Peace and quite on Black River

Charming and comfortable 3 bedroom home in a quaint, peaceful setting on the cleanest river in North Carolina. All the conveniences of home with central heat and air (new), high speed wi-fi, Big screen tv's, fireplace, king and queen size beds, big kitchen with all the essentials, large screened in porch on the front to sit and watch the birds, a huge open deck on the rear with all the necessary items, most everything you think you will heed is here. Fall is coming and won't be long before the leaves will be turning! Take a beautiful kayak ride down the river and see some spectacular fall colors! The river is nice anyway but when the leaves start to turn- WOW! We even have a two person canoe available $$$ during your stay. Just contact me. Covered parking under the house.

Peaceful tranquility!

Home was clean and sufficient for a peaceful stay away from all the hustle and bustle! The owner Benny was friendly and helpful! We hope to return when we can stay longer.

A Quiet Comfortable Stay

My family (ages 81, 72, 55, 19 and 17) stayed from June 19 - June 23, 2024. We were skeptical when we arrived but were pleasantly surprised when we entered the treehouse. We all loved the house! The front porch was the favorite hang out spot. We each had the best sleep as the mattresses and pillows were top notch. We did not see any other neighbors but did see plenty of rabbits and fawn! Mr. Benny checked on us just enough! We definitely recommend a stay in this peace of heaven!

Family first Vacation

Inside the house was very nice. The outside was a little cluttered with wood and stuff, but did not affect us at all. The most important thing is the outside stairs need to be fixed. A few of the boards came up that was unsafe but like I said previously, the boys enjoyed their vacation and that was what mattered.

Perfectly Peaceful

This was one of our most favorite vacations we have ever taken. The home is so peaceful and cozy. We took our twins fishing off the pier and enjoyed the amazing screened in patio during the evenings. We grilled ribs and I made bacon from the local pork farm every morning. Benny is an absolutely amazing host and did everything go make our stay so much fun. Benny is caring and went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable. Thank you Benny and Karen for having our family. We will be back, like next weekend! lol - slice of heaven!!!!

Quiet, clean and every needed convenience

Everything was provided that one could think of. It was quiet, clean and peaceful. Netflix, Amazon Prime and wifi easy to access. Just wish it had been a little closer to some shopping conveniences. It is NOT directly on the river, but access is close by. Be sure to bring your groceries with you and dont wait til you get there to go find a place to shop for them. I know this is what makes it so quiet and peaceful though! We enjoyed griendly conversation with Benny and he was truely concermed for us duri g our stay!

Peaceful place to relax

We really enjoyed our stay on the Black River. The children loved the "tree house". although it is not an actual tree house, sitting on the deck you are sorrounded by trees and treetops - just beautiful. Benny is a wonderful host. Friendly and helpful, what else can you hope for. When we arrived late in the evening, we felt like home immediately. The House was very clean. Although we thought, we had brought everything we needed with us, we learned that Benny was a thoughtful Host. Even the few things we had forgotten were provided. The kids had a lot of fun on the water (and watching Daddy in the water after the kayak capsized). Will definetely come back when we are in the area again. P.S. Loved talking to Benny and his family.

Very remote, yard needs massive cleaning

Location was okay. It’s very remote and is a far distance from everything. Says it has a water view but it does not. You can only see the water on the way to the house. Driveway and yard are very overgrown and have a bunch of junk laying around so you cannot let a pet nor children play without close supervision and the overgrown branches will touch your vehicle on the way to the house. The listing does not disclose that the house is on stilts nor that the stairs and decks need work so someone who can’t climb stairs would not be able to stay here. Inside of house is nice but is still in the process of being remodeled. Oven does not work. There is a toaster oven but not a regular oven.

Exactly as pictured-perfect!

The one thing that pictures don't show is how actually beautiful and peaceful the surrounding area is. The best part was how gracious both Benny and his wife are! They always responded within minutes and wanted us to enjoy our stay. My husband and I had the most relaxing time after the everyday stress of life! We felt welcome and spent all our time on the front and back porch. Look forward to being invited back for a longer stay. You won't find nicer hosts than the Browns!

Fall is coming and won't be long before the leaves will be turning! Take a beautiful kayak ride down the river and see some spectacular fall colors! The river is nice anyway but when the leaves start to turn- WOW! We have had this property along with a couple of others that we and our families have enjoyed for the past years and now we want to share with others what we have known for a long time! If you are looking to get away from it all and still have all the conveniences of home, this is the place! a very friendly/layed back community that we are sure you will love!

What makes this property unique

Inside you will have all the high tech things you have at home ( wi-fi, Smart TV, etc.) and you can walk out on the porch and be at peace with nature. We love it and are sure you will too!
