My parents and my husband and I stayed here on a recent trip to Shenandoah National Park. The house was sparkly clean and had everything we needed. The outdoor spaces were a real treat-we could sit outside in the afternoons after we got back and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Everything was well organized and very comfortable. Ellen is an excellent and thoughtful host.
This home was beautiful and as advertised. We enjoyed the views, the fire pit, and the nice walking path behind the house. Feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere, but anything you could ask for is within 5-6 miles. We visited Shenandoah National Park in mid October, and the colors were absolutely stunning. Highly recommend this gem of a home.
Property was clean and we liked that it was situated off the main road. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was fairly close, The Luray Caverns, Civil War Battle Field and Museum. Just tons to do and the property just made our stay that much better.
The property was a wonderful home set back from the road in the edge of the woods. It was very well kept, extremely well stocked & both comfortable & quiet. We found some interesting towns close by with some very good places to eat. It was a truely great place & a relaxing experience!

Wonderful!
My family is separated by distance and we loved spending the weekend at this property. It had everything we needed from the kitchen to the outdoors, and was in a gorgeous tucked away location. We'd love to come back!
Ellen is an amazing hostess. It was a five star experience in a beautiful location. The house is secluded yet close to everything. It was undoubtedly the best stocked kitchen. We hope to return with our families.
A lovely setting in the river valley, set back from the road with woods and open space all around. It has a wonderfully stocked kitchen and good space for the four of us to be together while each having our own privacy as well

Lovely home in Shenandoah!!
This home was perfect for our Labor Day Weekend getaway. It was close to everything we did (half marathon in Luray, Luray Caverns, hiking in Shenandoah National Park, and kayaking on the Shenandoah River). The accommodations were very clean and comfortable! And the homemade cookies were delicious!!!

Spacious, clean and equipped with all you need for a comfortable stay away from home. The owner was very accommodating to our needs, and communicated well. Many thanks!
The scenery and the towns and being Memorial weekend the people had so much spirit and parades ,car shows and lots of stuff going on ..the house is in a great location to lots of things to do i will rent again and the host was pleasent to make sure you have everything ...
Plenty of room (7 total for one of the nights) and nice outdoor space. Took many walks through the woods. We kept the fire pit going the whole weekend. We brought in food and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook and serve a nice Thanksgiving dinner. Such a beautiful area of the country.
We came for a few days to take kids to Massanutten. House was great! Owner was very helpful. Only recommendation would be to upgrade cable/satellite. No ESPN during bowl season makes for unhappy football fans.
This is a great property! We have rented several VRBO places, and this one by far was the best equipped, hands down. Plenty of towels, linens, every kitchen need you could ask for, makings for s'mores, and then an added special touch for our anniversary. Thank you Ellen for making this a great week for us! Highly recommend.
The property comes highly rated and we were not disappointed. It felt like home and the seclusion of the property added to the peaceful setting we enjoyed. Whether enjoying breakfast in the morning sunlight or watching TV at the end of the day we were always comfortable with all the conveniences of home. Would definitely use this property again.
This property was perfect for visiting family for the holidays! My kids loved it! The house is beautifully furnished, comfy spaces all around the house with beautiful bedding and towels. If you like to cook they have everything you can think of! Lots of privacy on the property with a small town that is a 10 minute drive to anything you could need. Highly recommended!

About the host

My husband and I visit this area often and find this place to be relaxing. The people in this area are extremely nice and always wave hello.
Why they chose this property
We chose to purchase this home because it is attached to family land. This rental property gets its name from this very transaction. We are the third couple in our family to own this lovely property.
What makes this property unique
This property is surrounded by the Blue Ridge and the Massanutten Mountains. The views in this area are amazing and the property itself is peaceful and relaxing. I love visiting Luray, Va., just 10 minutes up the road to walk main street and enjoy all of the antique shops.
