The house had all kinds of room. Sitting on the porch overlooking the beautiful river and Boldt castle you can feel all the stresses of life float away.

Very Disappointed
This house has so much potential, great location and plenty of room for larger families. The house is stocked with everything you may need. Unfortunately, the house is not very clean and has a major spider problem. There were spiderwebs and cobwebs everywhere inside and out. Several in our party experienced spider bites and had to take benadryl to reduce the swelling and symptoms. Our daughter, who was staying on the 3rd floor, got some kind of bites all over her legs from playing on the carpet.
Carpets are stained and furniture is definitely not new, as listed. Air conditioner filters were filthy.
The "private" beach area was not private as people and their dogs were there several times a day, along with scuba divers. The hot tub was operational.
It was very hard communicating with the property manager, prior to our trip, she never responded to my messages so I called her, which I understand she is busy, but it took three calls to get a few answers. There were no check-in or check-out instructions. I only knew to go to the Bonnie Castle Resort Office from previous reviews. I have stayed at several VRBO homes and have never had no check-in instructions at all.
I do not recommend this house, unless there is pest control and a deep cleaning involved before arrival.
a/c filters needed cleaning, did not look like they were done for a very long time, i cleaned the 2 we used and they worked much better, railings on 2nd floor need work, power surges, some other minor repairs

Not impressed
The best thing about this rental is the space. We had 15 that fit comfortable.Could definitely use another couch in living room though. There were cob webs in almost every room. Grounds could be mowed better. The communication was terrible, I would get a one word answer or no answer at all! I didn’t know you are supposed to go to Bonnie castle front desk to check in, being that it is listed as a Vrbo.?? You would think since they take care of garbage every day you would be able to switch out your towels during the week…..nope. They just surface clean it needs a deep cleaning and the filters in the air conditioners are gross and dirty. I didn’t have high expectations because of the reviews. Back in the day this house was something. Now it could use a lot of work.

Tom's stay
To start with, once rented property manager was impossible to get in contact with. Upon arrival there was no information on checking in though requested numerous times. Did see a maintenance man who directed us to the Hotel front desk to get key. (Seems property is part of Hotel complex) Exterior of property needs a lot of maintenance. (wires hanging out where light fixtures were removed and not replaced) Grass and weeds over grown around house. . Advertised Dock and pool are park of Hotel, while beach seems to be public area with people wondering around onto property. Carpets very stained and very short on towels. House was large and can accommodate a large group. Kitchen was large and provided all necessities. Refrigerator was large, double door, but could have been better with an ice maker.. Air condition was window units and master bedroom unit was not able to cool room Location and view was great.
Location was perfect with a million dollar view! The house must have been magnificent in it’s day! Very outdated now. Fit all 16 of us with room to spare! Hot tub’s cleaning needed to be addressed and response was immediate. We fixed a broken chair when we got there and found a cupboard door had fallen off which had obviously been duck taped on previously. All in all it was a great 5 days with family! Just needed a little bit more TLC!
Excellent. As always a few opportunities for improvement.
Provide directions and check in procedure either by e mail or on web site day before arrival.
Add cooking materials to kitchen;
Many minor jobs in the house for a handy man.
Add additional info to web site: 3 levels no elevator, bedrooms and bathrooms by floor level, photos of exterior, coffee maker is paper filter type; no laundry wash/dry in house, trash pick up instructions, etc.
Would stay there again.
We loved this house!! It was perfect for our long weekend getaway with a beautiful view of the river, Boldt Castle and many large ships. The house was very spacious and allowed for a comfortable stay. We were all, 15 of us, able to hang out and play games in the living room at the same time. The area was perfect and within walking distance to the downtown area. The owner was very attentive and understanding and we even had the opportunity to meet her! We will definitely be going back for a longer stay in the very near future!
The house is huge and accommodated our large group wonderfully. The view of Boldt’s Castle from the deck is breathtaking. We had such a wonderful time!! We would definitely book again.

Large riverview house
House was very large and was great for our large group. House is much larger than even described. It is outdated with stained carpeting, but for our purposes was great. Location and view terrific. The downside was communication. Tough to get questions answered from manager. Slow getting back to me and sometimes no response at all. It also took 18 days to get my security deposit back for some reason. Overall though our stay was great.
Our family of 11 enjoyed our trip. The house is extremely spacious with an amazing view of Bolt Castle. The house was still being cleaned at our checkin time. The beds and bathrooms were nice and clean. The kitchen and living areas could use maintenance, an update and a deep clean. The sand beach and dock were a plus.

Great location!
Just spent a wonderful week at this roomy, comfortable cottage with our large family. We brought our boat and we're able to keep it at Bonnie Castle's docks. Only downfall were the kitchen appliances that need to be updated and we hope the owners add laundry facilities. We definitely hope to vacation here again in the future!

Perfect Vacation Experience
Just returned home from an incredible week on the St. Lawrence River at this beautiful, roomy house located at the most prime spot in Alexandria Bay. I think we were the first renters and there were a few minor maintenance issues, which the owners dealt with quickly and cheerfully. It's obvious that they're going to continue to add additional deck space and other interior upgrades, but we had a blast! Convenient to EVERYTHING the Thousand Islands area has to offer. We had plenty of room for 7 adults, never felt cramped or pressured. Huge kitchen, Living room, Balconies and decking, Game Room. We hated to leave, and are already talking about next year.
