The Whippoorwill Retreat Cabin – A Hillside Haven for Gatherings and Getaways
The Whippoorwill Retreat Cabin – A Hillside Haven for Gatherings and Getaways
Completed July 2025
Tucked into the wooded hillside and named for the haunting evening call of the whippoorwill, this newly built retreat cabin is designed to welcome families, friends, and small groups into a space of rest, reconnection, and Appalachian charm. With thoughtful details throughout, The Whippoorwill Retreat is full of heart and character in every corner.
Downstairs, a spacious open living area greets you with warmth—featuring a large sitting space, shelves of books and puzzles, and artwork from local and regional artists that brings the spirit of the mountains indoors. A cozy daybed offers flexible sleeping space on the main level, alongside a full bathroom with shower and a well-stocked kitchenette complete with full refrigerator and freezer, microwave, coffee and tea station, and all the essentials for light cooking or gathering around a shared meal.
Upstairs, you’ll find a lofted Appalachian-style sleeping area, perfect for quiet rest under pitched ceilings and soft light. A full bathroom is also located on this level, along with a private bedroom that offers full privacy—ideal for retreat leaders, couples, or anyone seeking a bit of solitude within the group.
Each morning, guests are invited to a homemade breakfast served at 9 a.m. in the farmhouse—a nourishing, slow-start to your day in the holler. Dinner is also available by reservation, lovingly prepared from scratch in our kitchen and delivered right to your door. For $55 per person, each meal includes 4–5 seasonal courses, with accommodations for dietary restrictions and allergies available upon request.
Whether you're hosting a small gathering, planning a creative retreat, or simply seeking stillness in the trees, The Whippoorwill Retreat Cabin offers space to rest, reflect, and feel at home in the quiet rhythm of the mountains.
