Apartment is in downtown on the pedestrian square. Located 100m from the Vaci street, 50m from the main metro station and fashion street. All the attractions and important places to visit are within the walking distance. It is on the 5th floor with a little balcony and great view. There is no city noise reaching the apt. 70m2 apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Fully equipped with air con, dishwasher, TV, internet etc. Just recently renovated and furnished.

King of Bait and Switch--Don't stay with this Host (Laci) at any Property

We booked this lodging due to it's location close to the areas that we wanted to explore, washer & dryer, and 2 bdrms and baths. On 'paper' it's ideal. The host, however, is a piece of work. First he demanded we pay the final installment a week before the due date. Next he asked us to call him on his own phone (not thru VRBO mail) 3 days before we arrived to tell us that the unit couldn't be used since the bath had plumbing problems. But he could let us use a unit "nearby" which was twice as big for the same price. "Nearby" was over a mile away and further from metro stations than this place, which we had reserved 4.5 months before our trip. The day before we arrived he messaged that reservation was cancelled (no reason, fake or otherwise was given) and that we should contact VRBO for help finding other lodging. But he didn't actually cancel the reservation before our arrival in Budapest, so support couldn't assist us since the reservation was not yet formally cancelled (a huge raspberry & finger to our "host" for cancelling last minute). I left msg for Laci by phone the morning we arrived for him to cancel the reservation, and he finally did a few hours later. Upon arrival, we found there was a Formula 1 race going on in town that weekend. Lots of Formula 1 fans in town needing lodging. Our bet is that the 2 units were double-booked & he kept the higher paying renters & stiffed us. Read the other review: total bait and switch. Avoid or you'll need alternate lodging!

Amazing apartment in a great location…with caveats

We were not given the original apartment we rented- the manager said the elevator was unreliable and we were on the 7th floor. Then he didn’t come to let us in as planned. He walked us through a complicated locking system for a outer metal door then an interior door by phone. The apartment was a beautiful old design with an inside courtyard core, 7 door ceilings.and new kitchen, baths and it had a washer/dryer. The neighbors were nice and did show us how to open the door to exit the building. However our promised first floor apartment was actually up two flights of stairs with NO WORKING ELEVATOR. We managed fine once we dragged our things up narrow dark and twisting staircases. Main issue was it was MOT set up for guests. We had to find bottom fitted sheets and ended up using duvet covers we found for top sheets because we we not comfortable using their old quilts as our top sheets. Then we found pillow covers to put over the old pillows provided. We dug around and found towels. But there were no instructions for the house. - never got the TV or oven working and never saw a phone. Luckily we had our cell phones. And there was no space in the closets- they were jammed packed with clothes with out a hanger to spare., drawers also were packed with clothes so couldn’t hang up anything. We just lived out of our suitcases. (It even came with used dental floss on the bathroom sink. Really loved the apartment but felt like we had thrown someone out of their home. Not a standard VRBO situation with a locked owner’s closet.
